Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Happy day’s then, hopefully no more cancellations until after the weekend then.

Ignore Spud he's got it wrong.

The current table is as stands :

Liverpool : P29 Points 82
Man City : P28 Points 57

https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table

Liverpool are 25 points clear, city have 30 points to play for.

I think that with tonights game now being cancelled things revert to how they were before it was rescheduled : City needed 1 point from United away and burnley home to ensure Liverpool cannot win the title at Goodison.

Obviously they lost to United so now with only the Burnley game on Sat before the derby it means if City lose Liverpool will be 25 points clear with City having 27 points to play for, thus a victory over us puts them 28 points clear which obviously can't be caught by city making them champions.

If city draw with Burnley it puts them 24 points behind with 27 to play for, thus if Liverpool beat us they go 27 points clear but not mathematically champions due to goal difference..

If city beat burnley it puts them 22 points behind with 27 to play for, thus if Liverpool beat us they go 25 points clear but can still be overtaken by City.

So basically City need a draw or win against Burnley to ensure Liverpool CANNOT win the title at Goodison.

What players is it? And how many? They might say you have a squad, use it
14 players in a squad of 25.
If Barcelona can get special dispensation just for the loss of 2 strikers then should apply to everyone else

It’s Brighton mate they’re crap. Your players will all be fit, lots will have home gyms, they’ll all have the tactics and game plans available to them. They can skip a few days training.

as expected Portsmouth have issued a statement dumping the onus on the FA/EFL as regards coming into contact with Arsenal players and cancelling their next game.
What a farce.
If Johnson had any cojones they'd issue a public health emergency notice which I imagine legally cancels out any objections and declare all major sporting comps be postponed till April at the earliest.
But it's all money and sponsorship and corporate bs

they're in isolation for 2 weeks how does that work. self isolate but come into work

Additionally, I wonder what evidence a club needs to present to the FA in order to have their games postponed? How can a club prove that their player was or wasn't in contact with somebody who may or may not have the virus, and as a result it may or may not spread within their club?

The current advice from the government is if you suspect you may have it, or have been in contact with somebody who also may have it (or may not!) then you need to self isolate. This is a great chance for injury-hit teams to claim corona virus is rife and get their players back!

I know if I was Man City, Spurs or Villa I'd be getting in touch with the FA pronto.

I thought you said they play Brighton this Saturday.

Edit: I get what you mean now, but surely all of the first team squad will be self-isolating and thus you could only play U23's that don't train with the firsts?

Edit: Scrap that, isolation period ends Friday, they'll likely have trained up until the Forest news hit yesterday, they'll only have missed a few training sessions.

Mental...

Portsmouth go into self-isolation today, 9 days after the event which means 9 days to spread a disease.... not quite logical is it

Isn't that because they only knew they had to self-isolate from yesterday when the Forest news broke?

Oh yes, you’re absolutely right. Just how many people have they came into contact with in those 9 days. That area, along with wherever Arsenal players go and Nottingham, will be absolutely rife, you’d imagine now.

Poorly planned.

Should have done lockdown like Italy, and be prepared. Mental that we’re still having this discussion tbh.

Yeh and it's like all the people at Pompey/Arsenal who share the gym, canteens, classrooms, touching anything around the training ground and stadiums etc. Damage is done if any of them have it.

that's what I don't understand either..statement says 14 players and 4 staff members need to isolate for 14 days but we are fulfilling our Brighton game.

It's 14 days after contact with whomever has coronavirus so 14 days after the Olympiacos game which will end Friday.

HOWEVER, since the Olympiacos game that squad/staff have trained, shared the gym with other players and staff etc. so I'm not quite sure why only certain people are self-isolating and not the entire club.
