Can't really recall my first match at Goodison as I went to so many at a young age in the boys pen.
My first away game was Leeds in 1973 beat 3-1 Never seen so much violence, running battles outside the ground.Think that was a draw.

A rainy Saturday 28th March, 1970.
Everton vs Chelsea.
Well over 50,000 in GP that day.
Blues lined up:
Gordon West
Tommy Wright Roger Kenyon Sandy Brown
Howard Kendall Alan Ball Colin Harvey
Johnny Morrissey Joe Royle John Hurst Alan Whittle

Straight from the kick off, the Blues took just 14 seconds to open the scoring, Howard Kendall on the mark before Chelsea touched the ball.
Bally made it 2-0 inside four minutes and Joe Royle added a third shortly before half time.
Big Joe added a second inside three minutes of the restart and Alan Whittle made it a nap hand 5-0 before the hour.
The Blues eased up and Chelsea claimed two consolation goals as it ended 5-2.

Got soaked to the skin and loved every single second of it - happy, happy, happy days

Ha yeah it was Ray Atteveld, that explains why I didn't remember him.

Turns out it was McCall too. Jackson wasn't playing. I was close.
