Pep could manage us and we wouldn’t finish Top 6 next season.
It’s a club issue we’re that far behind not just the manager.

Beat me to itWTF??!
If you go into matches viewing them as expected defeats and change personnel to defend a 1-1 draw at Swansea than that’s a major problemHe did it with Bolton once, so why not with us? Not saying I want him here next year, but in my opinion the problem with the club doesn't start or end with Sam.
I disagree with that actually. In fact as dire as the football has been recently its still better than it was under Koeman or Unsy earlier in the season. There just seems to be a combination of a lack of confidence and a lack of being arsed that permeates through the squad with very few exceptions (e.g. Coleman, Jags, Walcott, Tosun, Niasse...)
Can't really disagree with you in many respects, especially with there being more teams that are "in the money" (although Chelsea won the league the year Sam finished 6th with Bolton). The fact you bring up Wenger is interesting. I actually think the biggest issue with Arsenal over past decade has been a lack of a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room and overall a weak mentality. I think this is something we suffer from as well (with the exception perhaps of Coleman).
Agreed and for all his faults in decision making athleticism in midfield was something Barkley gave us..lack of athleticism in central midfield and central defence means we have to play deep, once players are beaten there is no chance of recovery. I’m afraid we’re in a bit of a mess with this squad.

Could probably sign him back tbh. As was predicted by all and sundry, he can’t get near the Chelsea team.
Vlasic has the pace and the ability no doubt but I think at the moment he hasn’t got the physical presence to play that role..yep, when you have central defenders as slow as ours your back four have to defend on the edge of their box. When that is the case, you have to have players who can join back to front but we don’t have that since Barkley left. I can see Vlasic having that ability but he doesn’t get used.

Barkley was a big lad who could ride a tackle and hold people off
The likes of Matic ,Pogba ,even KDB have that presence and build to do that role.
Vlasic as a No 10 or an inside left ( people under 50 googling inside left as we speak) would be ideal
WE have the players to form a very good team, with the right tactics, The tactics under Allardyce will never work for our players.
We have quite alot of pace in the squad but its never used correctly, Walcott and Bolasie are both fast, along with Coleman and Lookman, but of cource Lookmans out on loan
@Eggs
Replying to my own post here but in a 4/2/3/1 formation if we had a DM of the ilk of Dembele ( Spurs version ) Matic NZonzi Etc who could carry a ball 40/50 yards quickly than Vlasic playing alongside him would be ideal as he could either drive at defences or run beyond the No 10 and the CF
However as you have stated all season our recruitment has been like a patchwork quilt this season , bits and pieces that don’t match sowed together
