Allardyce wasn't hired to win over the fans. He was hired out of retirement to right the floundering ship that was Everton

...BUT he hasn't done that has he. What ever we achieve this season, will be despite his efforts, not because of them.

He was a stopgap solution at best, never very popular from the start and with poor results and little, if any, fan support, I'm suprised he's still in charge.

If it was the last game of the season on Saturday could understand some of the angst. As it's not it's all a bit snowflake entitlement at present.

It's a matter of results. If he can mastermind a run of decent results then he will, by definition, have started to turn things around.

Problem is the upcoming fixture list. We NEED to put a run of wins together, but we have City and the Norwegians as two of our next four games and they're both coming to Goodison. Lose either one of those badly and all momentum is lost. That's ignoring the fact that we'd need two wins against Brighton and Stoke to start building any momentum in the first place!

Home v Brighton
Away at Stoke
Home v City
Home v RS
Away at Swansea
Home v Newcastle
Away at Huddersfield
Home v Southampton
Away at West Ham

Six of those teams are below us in the table (as of 6th March) and Brighton are only above us on goal difference. If Sam can somehow get our expensive squad of (mostly) cowards to start putting in some performances, then there's hope. But that is a massive and pretty unlikely "if".

Even against those teams below us I don't see us picking up that many points. Sam/the team has shown that they can't get a result away from home against practically anyone. I can only see us getting 8-10 points from that run, with only 2/3 wins.

I fear you are probably right.... and I also fear that you might even be a little optimistic about the 8 - 10 points.

I still can't quite comprehend how far from grace our defence has fallen since Sylvain Distin's loss of form. It's been an endless downward spiral from there. I honestly thought Keane was the signing that would set us back on track, especially under Koeman's tutelage... Good Lord, pass the bleach.

I'm not the call for the managers head sort of fan. But I did when Koeman went. I really believe this season is his fault. So I don't fully blame Big Sam, for what we are watching now. However, I expected him to make us hard to beat. That hasn't happened, we still make stupid mistakes, no matter who is playing. Added to nothing going forward, even if we had a decent striker, they'd get no service we are a very poor side.

We've used more different players than any other club. I guess that happens, when you have three managers in a season. But makes it difficult to have a settled side. Especially at the back.

I think we'll change our manager, in June
I hope new one comes in straight away so we can plan for next season. Knowing us he'll come in July 30th. oh and sell Williams and a few of the other over paid senior pros

Get unsworth back in charge for rest of the season sick of the sight of that gum chewing donkey. He will do better this time around.

Allardyce speaking today wants long term appointment...
Certainly got an uphill job with the fans, he needs a win badly then a good run in until the end of the season....

He also needs to be more positive playing at home & away....
More ambitious with his thoughts as this is the biggest club he has ever managed...
Finally Everton do need stability & rebuilding will Allardyce be the man to do this....we will soon see in the next few games....

???? You even think it’s even a consideration for him to be here today let alone next season ? Yikes Bed

He was not my choice, however we can't keep sacking our manager's after 4 months....what happens if the next manager has a bad run sack him too...

Allardyce needs to be given till the end of the season, then if the results have not been good enough sack him....if he can manage to pull it round then let him play out his contract & see how he goes next season...

Knee jerk decisions are not helpful & will only continue to hurt this great club....
