He was not my choice, however we can't keep sacking our manager's after 4 months....what happens if the next manager has a bad run sack him too...

Allardyce needs to be given till the end of the season, then if the results have not been good enough sack him....if he can manage to pull it round then let him play out his contract & see how he goes next season...

Knee jerk decisions are not helpful & will only continue to hurt this great club....
If you are guided by opinion polls, you are not practicing leadership - you are practicing followship...

If he wins the Goodison derby and we managed to finish 7th or 8th, both of which are extremely unlikely at this point, opinion could sway back in the favour of keeping him on past the summer to see what he can do to remould the squad. Other than that I really don't think the old microwave head has got a prayer.

They'll be a lot of good managers available this summer and Moshiri himself said that he wants a big name as manager because he wants us perceived a big club again. And even if we can't attract a big name, there's still Silva lurking in the background whom he wanted over Allardyce in the first place. You know that fella is waiting by the phone hoping we'll ring.

7th and a derby win I still wouldn’t want him next season.

When big sam came in i thought “he will make us strong defensively, difficult to beat and unite the squad with his famious management”.
I was prepared to accept the prgamstic football in return for this. However He has clearly failed in delivering any of these.
I’m also sure koeman and unsworth would have both achieved midtable finishes. We had a terrible fixture list at start of the season which prevented us really integrating the new squad together effective.

YES.

The thread title has bothered me and made me think long and hard about a proper response.

Yes he can turn it round. Round is a circle, and I firmly believe he can leave us right back where we started when he joined.

Can he turn us around leading to a changed, improved force? No. I do not think his brand of unimaginitive statistics driven football can do that.

Well yes, that would be great of course but the question isn’t ‘would it be good if Everton won some matches’ but whether he can turn it round and win back the fans and I think that ship sailed a VERY long time ago. I can’t think of a more disillusioning time to be a Blue, including the 90s.
Swapping our current place for a relegation place and fighting for survival on the last day of the season. No thanks not for me, I remember that the stark reality we almost faced.

The 6 voters who voted yes? Do you believe in aliens to?

Aliens are way more believable than that frauds ability to change things around.

Me, I'm one of the Allardyce 8. Probability is on our side. Few key wins, finish 7th and we will all be eating pies.

This is my stance.

The board are to blame for making the appointments. We have had one decent season since Moyes left and everything else has been a slide that has hastened since Moshri became the first man to spend 200M to make a squad weaker.
Sam is just another piece in the mess. He will go and be forgotten as we will all be fuming with the next man!
Sam is just getting some pocket money and laughing at the board. And they deserve it.

Hope you are well mate. ;)
