Calm down

If the next two results don't go our way then we will probably be in the relegation zone.

We then have very winnable games until the Spurs one at the end of November.

We have to go into these 2 games and play for a win. We can come away with wins from both games. If however the worst happens, it is indeed a concern finding ourselves in that position. We will be under massive pressure then to string a run of results together to get back into that top 4, top 6 even.

A lot of grief for robbie and his defensive set but 3 shots on target from palace and 3 goals. 90 % of our goals conceded are personal mistakes. 3 of em today. No set up or system can stop personal mess ups. At least Howard has been on good form up till now. How osman gets on the team sheet baffles me. It's not bashing. He's just slow. Weak shot. Can't tackle. And he has added a new string to his bow. Give the ball away consistently.. However saying that we would have won today if Howard hadn't made his errors.

I don't think that is true to be honest. I think employing a system where you are encouraged to mess around with the ball in dangerous situations will increase the probability of mistakes taking place. It also allows the opposition to regroup and put two lines of four behind the ball.

Can't understand why Martinez changed the formation today.
Round pegs in round holes etc etc.
Play players in the positions they belong and to the formation they're used to and we shouldn't go too far wrong!
Tinkering has lost us 3 valuable points today, and we haven't got that many that we can afford to throw points away.

This result has made me madder than the Chelsea one because it was so avoidable. We played into their hands. We should have sat back more and worked it through as we did with Wolfsburg. As it was we looked so shaky.

They also hit the bar, and should have scored from the rebound

Well. I think you'd all agree now I was right. Let's hope the defence turns up for Liverpool! They are not playing well too. But a repeat of last season is on the cards if we are not careful.

1) I watched the 3-4 loss to Liverpool back in the nineties. I didn't have a club and I fell in love.

2) The embodiment of war and heroes

You answered the above in reply to ' how you became an Evertonian '. You would think something like this you would remember forever. Seeing as you fell in love with Everton after the game; What 4-3 defeat to Liverpool are you talking about in the 90's ?

For all the moaning about our horror start to the season, and it was a horror start (fixture list notwithstanding), none of our main rivals for 3rd/4th place are more than two points ahead of us. Rs and Arsenal on 14 points, Utd on 13, Spurs on 11 with us on 12. Heck we are only 5 behind City. Next time we have a couple of bad results in a row can we please remember this? Instead of whinging and calling for the manager's head.

Bobby's got this.
