Here's the thing, some of us don't like getting beat, no matter who it's against. Now, we realise we can't win every game but it doesn't mean we have to be happy about it. Sorry for being passionate like.

Quite frankly this apathy that has seeped into the fanbase is dissappointing.
This 1000%.

Can't believe anyone is saying 'oh but we are 6th?? Aren't you buzzing enough?' Koff, Leicester just won the league.

Against arguably the worst side in the league aside from Sunderland, I expected a lot more from our attackers today. It's nowhere near enough for Barkley to "keep things ticking over" as I read here today, and Mirallas stunk the place out until he was inevitably brought off. It's a good job Bolasie put that goal in otherwise the miss would've capped off a(nother) disgraceful showing for us. Thankfully he had a good second half, which leaves me scratching my head as to why he can't perform like that more often. It goes without saying, then, when you have one striker and your attacking midfielders aren't on form, it's going to be incredibly difficult for said striker to have an impact on the game. Lukaku's hold-up play was impressive today, but he was feeding on absolute scraps and it took a last-minute nick by the defender to stop him slotting home a tap-in in the second half.

As most people are saying, it all boils down to our quite frankly disgraceful transfer window. I'm not arsed about Sissoko, infact I'd have been as gutted as I was with us signing Bolasie if he'd have joined, but we are so short of quality it's scary. No real competition for Barry, Barkley, Coleman, Baines, Stekelenberg, Lukaku... which means you have to keep poorly-performing players in the side (Coleman, Barkley), especially if the manager, as it seems, doesn't trust the younger players.
Not about trust to younger players, he just doesn't want to play them. All the Southampton fans said was he doesn't play the youth, and he isn't, there is no mystery to be solved!

Transfer window was ok, in that Koeman clearly signed players who can do the biz, but not nearly enough of them... we needed half a new team...

Lad, I 100% understand the frustration. But at the same time the negativity from some of our fans definitely effects the players IMO. In fact I have stopped browsing @GrandOldTeam since some fans take these negative feelings to the extreme. I'm sad that the moderators, including fans like @chicoazul , @ijjysmith and others haven't tried to distance themselves from this weird mentality. I wish as a forum we could take this more seriously any try to be more optimistic...

Much love

Just not good enough not by a long long way, Barkley dropped last game should have been right up for this should have been in their faces, chasing, harassing, how dare you drop me... unfortunately he doesn't never do this and it pisses me right off

He was up for it... for about ten minutes ... he put one tackle in ... got a bit of a cheer ... then decided that was enough pressing and tackling for today and went back to his normal Crap self.

You find him to be a negative poster then?

Has Barkley lost a turn of speed/ flair from his game? Just looks "static" as you say when he gets the ball. No trickery or taking on opponents.
Well, the whole squad has been like that for as long as I can remember to be honest.

Last year del played some incredible through balls to Lukaku when they were scoring/assisting each other - I swear they were the first real knife through butter through balls I'd ever seen an Everton player play with my own eyes. But it's not even like we attempt those sort of passes often, because we don't.

In Barkleys case, I can't figure out whether it's confidence or management, because he stopped trying this stuff ages ago - perhaps he's scared of losing possession, or perhaps he's told not to bother trying through management, I don't know - but neither make sense. England during the euros apparently had Ross imitate Gareth bale in training, due to his power, pace and technique with the ball at his feet- where is all that???

Well so far, 35mins in, we have so much of the ball but have offered no real threat to their keeper. They have gone forward a few times and our keeper at least is made to get involved. So impotent going forward.

Let's see their goal now...

Better team in the first half. I think Burnley were terrible. But, we are impotent in the final 3rd as always, and that goal was pathetic!

I'll say the above again. Sitting here at half time, I'd bring on Valencia and play 2 up front. Take off Mirallas. Burnley are nothing. Why not go at them with 2 strikers?
