Burnley Case

City have made everyone wait for nearly 10 years, can't wait to see what our Legal teams do. :) Did notice on that though the word" Interest" that £40m will soon mount up. Can't we just say as Chelsea did, it was the fault of the previous regime ?
It's the fault of the Premier League for failing to punish the PSR breach same season. If there is a case to answer, it's the Premier league's not Everton's.

I’m just waiting to see how Dave twists this into being Moyes fault.

Sadly Moyes had the nerve to use the M65 on a journey near Burnley just prior to the legal action starting, seems a flash of his ginger mop driving past their training ground was enough to tip them over the edge and trigger Everton related PTSD.

Have to hope he's now held personally liable for the £40m payment.

Whatever. Just pay and move on. Burnley should be only team that can come after us as they only team that would have stayed up if the points were deducted same season. Would hope that new owners accounted for this during the purchase from Moshiri.

I hope the very same compensation is applied when other teams get sued left right and centre for the same.

Forest breached in 22/23? Leicester would have stayed up on GD if 4 points were deducted from Forest that season. And we would have finished 1 place higher.

And then you have City... Chelsea..

Can I just get this straight...

We broke PSR rules despite a number of mitigating factors that have been completely dismissed (stadium build costs, Ukraine war stopping major sponsors etc).

Then it was the Premier League's decision to deduct us a record number of points the following season...

So why are Everton being fined, when it was the Premier League who failed to punish the PSR breach that same season?

Chelsea - 10M fine for being found gulity of multiple financial breaches

Everton - Deducted 8 points and ordered to pay 40M compensation for one breach.

Nothing to see here.

40 million pound is a lot of money, so people better believe it when it says the judgement will be appealed!

I’ve made the argument before that I am glad the PL didn’t deduct the points in 22, as we’d likely have gone down, but we could use the same argument that Burnley have done about this ridiculous ‘loss of opportunity’, which basically argues multiple alternate realities are possible.

We also need to get serious with the PL and stop cosying up to them when all they do is screw us. They were in control of the administration of the penalty, and we are now being punished for their delay in administering the penalty, and subjecting us to two penalties in 2023.

If that judgement is upheld, we ought to be suing the hell out of the Premier League.

No it's obviously our fault Burnley lost all those games.

Don't just pay and move on.

I can see why Burnley want compensation, as they would have stayed up if the deduction had happened same season.....

However, is that Everton's fault, that the Premier League didn't deduct same season? Not a chance.

If compensation is to be paid, it's 100% on the premier League, not Everton.
