Honestly hope can do a better job as is plenty of reasons to appeal on league also taking time for the first case to be done, already punished pounts deduction lost money on league position. The 40mil is the headline, but I think what's way more important, more broadly, is the precedent this now sets for the rest of the league. 40mil (likely appealed lower) likely paid off by our former billionaire really isn't the story here.
It really shouldn’t have a huge impact on spending. It won’t count as a squad cost for the new rules so will have no impact from a financial fair play perspective.
MAYBE it would lessen what TFG choose to spend but like you say this hasn’t come from nowhere and will have been factored into their takeover negotiations.
They'd manage to negotiate a points deduction on top of the 40m.

I really don't think people realise what this means. It allows every club to file lawsuits against us. Any team that we beat in that period can claim loss of prize money etc. Clubs could argue loss of sponsorship as a result of this. They could argue that they were forced to sell players they didn't want to to comply with PSR due to loss of revenue caused by us.
And we will lose a lot of them because of this judgement. And also, it won't matter how frivolous some of them are, they will still need to be defended. With huge pots of cash set aside - where will that money come from I wonder. This will rumble on for the best part of the next decade.
