Not here to gloat; I have admired several of the performances of your team this season. Today seemed to be an off day and I think it was the most competitive I have seen our players for a long time.
I still think you will be competing for a top six place. Good luck!

Maybe next year mate. We are bang average. A losing culture of overpaid players getting a comfy ride. Brighton deserved the win. Not because they showed more quality, but because they were hungrier from the first minute.

Probably fair enough to say at the half way point of the season.

Some poor individual performances today didn’t help. Mina was a shambles at the back Walcott invisible and Richarlison just rolling about the pitch. Gomes has had the wind taken out of his sails as well.

We’d probably be better with Bernard on the right, Richy on the left and DCL up top.

The derby has truly killed us, it’s tragic.

The derby has defined both our seasons, they get a huge slice of luck and confidence flows through them , we go the opposite way, it’s like they sucked all our confidence and added it to their own .

No, but to paraphrase you if I may, some people on here write "utter sh.te".

Any comments made on our performance and attitude have, I think, being made independently of who we played and how well the opposition played. Today, we just didn't look interested, organised or bothered. That is nothing to do with Brighton and everything to do with Everton.

I was surprised at the level of wool in the Brighton fanbase. Brighton is not a city you associate with wool but I wasn’t factoring in some of the surrounding areas. I saw some lads that went beyond wool and into deliverance sort of territory

Not 100% sure of the ever changing offside rule but as the ball was deflected back by Gomes to the striker who was in an offside position should it not have been disallowed?

No , have to be onside when the ball is kicked by your own player. What happened is exactly the same as if a player was stood next to our keeper and our cb doesn’t see him and plays the ball back to the opposing player and he scores

We've heard this so many times about Pickford. It's mad how rarely it is used for decent keepers.

Probably because most of the decent keepers have established decent defences infront of them.
