Ah fatigue excuses already, we play once a week, not like other teams playing twice every week. Such bull.

Everton defender Michael Keane on whether Brighton's goal offside?

"At the time a lot of the lads were not sure who the ball came off but I was right there, it came off our player, so it was not offside, he was lucky it happened to fall to him, unlucky for us.

"We didn’t start as we wanted to, they put pressure on us and got the goal. We didn’t create clear cut chances.

"They started brightly, we grew into the game, I had a chance with my head. We’ve got to take them. If we go 1-0 up, we can control the game. We had a win against Burnley and wanted to build on that.

"Maybe the loss was down to fatigue, but also they have got a good defence, solid, hard to break down. So do we so there were never going to be too many goals. Maybe fatigue played a part, on our day we could cause them problems.

"We need to put things right, ensure we start the year with a win and get up the table back to where we belong.

Hollow words.

Would have respected him more if he’d just said we were pure turd in the second half and played like strangers against a team who had more bottle than we had.

This horrible football club will literally be the death of me,

I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes and it is being controlled by diet.

To this end I have cut out chocolate, cakes, biscuits and other sugary stuff like beer and white wine.

(I still take red wine though :))

So I got through Christmas abiding by these disciplines and all was well.....until tiday.

This game has annoyed me so much I am tucking into the Christmas chocolates and shortbread biscuits :(

Good Luck with the diabetes Khal.
There's a book written by Michael Mosley, the doctor on the TV, who overcame Type 2 by radically changing his diet - here's the Amazon link.

My missus read this and was blown away by it - she says get it and read it !!!

Keane mentions fatigue twice in that summary, well that seems a load of nonsense to me, how can they be tired, mind you it is tiring watching them and even more tiring listening to rubbish like that.

I fly for a long haul airline and would happily educate Keane on fatigue. I used to regularly operate a 10 hour flight, departing at midnight, through a minus 16 hour time zone change, arriving 6 hours before we took off, then take minimum legal rest before operating back the other way, losing a local day completely, then climb into the passenger cabin and position 4 hours back to main base. And I would do that 4 or 5 times a month, plus other flights.

That was fatiguing enough. But putting the tv on at the end of one of those flights to watch a bunch of highly paid pussies put on a 'couldn't care less' performance and then try to blame it on fatigue makes my f.c£ing blood boil.

Keane wouldn't recognise fatigue if it walked up to him and bit him on the ass.

I can accept a poor performance when the team give their best. But to put on an abject performance like that and think that I am stupid enough to swallow Keane's bs is extracting the urine.

Stop making hollow excuses and either do what you are paid handsomely to do or donate your salary to the homeless. The performance was bad enough but the excuse afterwards is pathetic.

Grow up Everton.

I said we were crap right in the post?
Oh I know. It's not irritation directed at you. It's the whole club set up, where performances like Brighton seem to be accepted as 'well these days happen'. Yes they do, but far too frequently to consider it luck. It's a culture at the club that needs rooting out and getting rid of. No way should we smash Burnley 1-5 then lose in such limp fashion against Brighton.

Brighton fan here.....
Not here to gloat; I have admired several of the performances of your team this season. Today seemed to be an off day and I think it was the most competitive I have seen our players for a long time.
I still think you will be competing for a top six place. Good luck!
Please let dannyboy know that we are all fans of his despite his poor opinion of us!

We still had more than enough play in this match to score at least once. Despite being extremely gash.

We have been clinical only once all season. This is top flight football. Too many soft weak players passing up clear chances in front of goal.

Just back from the game. Here's my conclusions:

- Brighton have some serious wool supporting them. I'm talking Deliverance, 6 fingers and toes stuff. I didn't expect that.
- Brighton are a turbo gash outfit. Letting them have 3 points off us is a clear indicator that there is a serious amount of work to do with this squad.
- Walcott and Mina slept through the match IMO. Can't believe Walcott got the full 90. Offered no support to Coleman with or without the ball
- Gomes looks jaded. A decent CM coming in January would be really useful. Hopefully we can offload Schneiderlin and get one in.
- Bernard was our only attacker who was at the races today. The rest of them were badly out of sorts.
- Coleman did well considering he had Walcott ahead of him and Mina inside him having an absolute stinker
- I don't understand why we didn't show any urgency. Brighton are useless. When we started showing urgency in the last 10 mins it was clear how easy it is to create chances against them
- The 3-4-3 left us light in CM. If we play that formation I think we need someone like Siggy in the front 3 who can drop in and support the midfield
- I'd like to see Walcott out the side for a run of games till he gets some form back. Stick DCL in and put Richarlison wide right
- Not the first time we've come out asleep after half time and handed the momentum to the opposition. Reminded me of the Watford game a bit.
- That's it.
