Brands & Silva press conference.

I was only thinking earlier how welcome it was that Everton had brought in and announced both Brands and Silva with a minimum of fuss and that it was refreshing. This sort of upends the apple cart a bit and, IMO, there's no need for it.

The club should be silent on all matters now, save for declaring who has gone from the squad and who's coming in. We've heard all the BS in the last two years to last a lifetime. Time for them to pipe right down and produce results rather than talking a good game about 'what the project/vision is'.

And if they did not do the presser then we would all be up in arms as they are not keeping us informed , new regime but nothing has really changed, still not engaging with the fans etc.
Why don't we just wait and see what is said, and if the club is really beginning to change.
We have gone from the ludicrously deluded Bobby where his were merely repeating how everything was sensational (despite results), through Ronnie who would have rather been on the golf course, through to Sam blaming everyone apart from himself.
It could hardly be any worse.
Brave new world , and all that.

With how devoid Goodison was last season, I think its entirely understandable the club feels the need to rally the support over the summer ready for the next season.
Actions speak louder than words, of course. But I don't think its a bad thing to be transparent with us.

Actions speaker louder than words. Had enough of the spin. If Moshiri wants to inform us of the stadium situation then he should do so. But the playing side will only be believed when the results start getting better and the performances also.

I;m sure they;ll put on a good double act, but who gives a flying one?

Everton fans?

I mean, surely thats who they will be "talking" to.

I’m expecting the forced removal of the foot-Long hot dogs and warm beer and their replacement with grilled sardines and vihno verde Portimao-style to welcome in our man Marco, and the announcement that Marcel has commandeered a large proportion of the players car leases and ordered in twenty-odd Raleigh Grifters.

And then the welcoming of Denis Bergkamp to the coaching set up.

Yes. The BS about us being major players and backed by a billionaire blah, blah, blah. Cant think when the club were spinning that line before it, can you?

Roberto said, before he got sacked, that the investment would take Everton into a "different dimension"

That was the first time the line was pedalled.

IMO fans are dubious and though they'll be interested in the press conference it'll be a matter of "yeah, nice lines/plan...now just do it because words are cheap".

Yeah. "Talking".

Why cant what they said last week just stand? I think we got the drift. But the show must go on and news needs to be made and journalists fed.

I repeat: less spin more action. All I want to hear from Brands and Silva this side of the pre-season is "we've let go a, b, and c for these reasons / we've bought x, y, and z for these reasons."

Dont you just get tired of the "this is what we'll do" stuff? Not interested really. I'll read it but the significance I place on it will be zero.

Just let yourself go D.

Enjoy every word they say. They will lather us up. It will feel great. We'll face the reality in a few weeks.

For now though, just enjoy the foreplay.
I'm happy enough with Brands/Silva (if they insist on that DoF role that is). It's just not appropriate for more spin. Not after the last season. The club just need to STFU and deliver their plan, not endlessly talk it up as per the Moshiri era so far.
