best bit was not having bill dripping in sweat and hugging both marcel and marco with moshiri trying to get involved with the hugs too..

the fact they both were not there, (in front of the camera's anyways) already shows we are more professional.. last thing we neeed is more cringewrothy statements of intent

well in Everton PR dept.

I think they will be a lot further on than they are letting on eggs. Silva mentioned he had a small list of players which I'm assuming are targets that he's had for some time and it sounds like Brands was on the blower on Friday ( probably a lot sooner )

They are both aware how short this window is so lets hope we bring in some quality sooner rather than later

..good point, Matey, Silva clearly has players he wants and it’s encouraging it’s a ‘small list’, suggesting quality over quantity.

that's massive. previously it would have all been about him but it was clear from the get-go that Marcel was in charge.

Yep, he mentiomed big names. Not sure if he meant quality players or players with long names. I think they both know whats needed, who they are going to keep, who they are likely to shift and who they would like to shift but might struggle. I think these 2 have had one eye on Everton since Oct/Nov and will hit the ground running.

2/3 top quality signings will make the world of difference to the team.

...the indication is they spoke for the first time 3 weeks ago after which they both agreed they could work together. I think the partnership is key and they both seem to be on the same page. I like Brands saying it’s pointless signing a player Silva doesn’t want as it demonstrates a joined-up approach with no individual agenda.

We might not be as forward in bringing in new players than we hoped, but i’m sure if there’s an opportunity to get somebody they really both like they will make it happen.
and lids think they've been secretly plotting together for 6 months behind the scenes...

Some naff questions there really.

Think they just did what they had to do and answer boring questions with boring soundbites. No point analysing anything too heavily.

Squad of nearly 40 to trim plus new signings during a world cup summer. They're gonna be busy behind closed doors, we just need to sit and wait and hope they make the right moves regarding ins and outs.

Neither looked like they wanted to be there and, as suggested, we got essentially the same info and thoughts from them they gave us in last week's round of interviews. Not sure what it achieved. Reboot Everton and draw a line under the last two years? I dont think so.

I felt a bit for Brands and Silva, tbh. What can they do? They cant promise success will happen, they can just reiterate that the reintroduction of a style and identity is a key task for them here. FWIW, though, I do get the impression that we have two men itching to get on with the job and see BS three ring circus's like that press conference as a hindrance to them in that respect. Silva looks driven and Brands looks like he has the calm stature for his role.

It's all good. NOW hopefully we'll hear a lot less bollocks and see more action.

Best bit by far.
