It's not exactly encouraging to a player who's already been on the bench for a first team game.

For Moyes to say he's a bit off the first team standard implies regression...or worse still - that he was just making up numbers on the bench when he was included.

Spot on, examples George and Dibling. Maybe by saying he is not at the levels required yet, Moyes might be saying that he is not yet mature enough to deal with the slings and arrows that will no doubt come his way when he doesn't prove himself to be prime Rooney after 15mins against West Ham

Not all it's cracked up to be but I would say that at 6'3" myself. Football is littered with great players at or under 5'9" though. Strength and endurance will be his most needed asset in the near term to push on, most other things needed are intangibles he already seems to possess. I just don't want to see him posting in the gym thread talking about "gains". You be you, work on your mentals...your body will catch up, just maybe not as fast as you'd like.

Evertonians are that thirsty that they're willing to rush a lad,who physically isn't ready into the first team because they think it's the right thing to do.

The thing about all this regarding sourpuss and Moyes, that I don't get, is Moyes seems to be of an NSNO mindset in certain aspects with players, something Sir Limón Wilde "plays around" with himself, in his own way...yet he's exploding like Pinatubo @ DM when he does it.
