Boxing

Why is casuals used in a derogatory fashion and why are they stupid?

They just like to see a British heavyweight knocking people out. The market dictates whether it should be ppv or not and id hazard a guess that everyone of Joshua's fights will be from now on regardless of opponent.

What's more stupid, people paying for something because they simply want to watch it or a "non casual" cutting his nose off to spite his face?

Has an air of the beginnings of the "Hipster" movement....."Uh...I liked that a long time before you did, and I don't like it now because you like it"

Not at all, I have no problem with casuals in Boxing, Boxing needs casuals and a lot of massive fights wouldn't happen without them... Quigg v Frampton for instance.

This fight should be easy to make without ppv, it's 2 works in progress fighting, one happens to be a paper champion.

I'm hnot cutting off my nose to spite my face, I'm just refusing to be ripped off.

wades arm/shoulder must be fair sore if that's what knocked him down in the end.god wade was awful.was watching it on silent because im at work and was picturing the ref saying what are you getting back up for fool just stay down just stay down your well outa your depth here.

Couldn't agree more, and he took a savage battering that evening. Fair play to him that it didn't retire him to be honest.

Really do think Murray will beat Groves. Certainly hope so
I would love that to happen, but I think Groves will get past him, use that jab, Murray is tough as nails but he lacks power, I'd love him to take groves into the late rounds and take advantage of his poor stamina, but Murray as decent as he is just doesn't seem to do enough when it really counts and I think he will fall short here too

The ultimate professional

Watched Mr.Calzaghe this evening, great show/doc on Joe's career, only gripe being a little bit too many stupid soundbytes from Gareth A Davies for my liking as I cant stand the guy, but a brilliant show nonetheless I thought.

Joe was top class but I do wonder did he get the big name opponents at the right time, Eubank, Hopkins and Jones too old and Kessler a little bit too inexperienced. Its not really a dig at him, just the way it goes sometimes, then you have his performance against Lacy where he was simply sensational.

There's a scene in the film with him and Kessler watching their fight, Kessler just seems like a top, top bloke.

Strange thing with Calzaghe is that he wasn't exactly young himself when he fought those names (Jones only three years older, Kessler much younger).

I personally think on pure talent, Calzaghe is one of the best of all time. Everyone ducked him, not the other way around.

His demolition of Jeff Lacy is still the most clinical championship fight I've ever seen live - and people forget he went into that as a massive underdog.

Also, I don't know why seemingly nobody else does, but I have Klitschko as a massive favourite for that rematch. He can't be that bad again, and I think Fury has already shown his "best".

Happy to see him prove me wrong, but for me he is one of the worst heavyweight champs ever.

I agree on eubank and jones, but for me he fought the very best version of kessler

Not exactly age but Jones was a shadow of what he was by the time Calzaghe met him, like I said, not a dig, or not ruling out he could have beaten them, but perhaps he's not been given the credit he deserves for such reasons.

As for the bold bit, definitely wouldn't accuse him of that, and don't recall him being too many times either.
