Black Saturday

Think positive mate. In the next 6 week's it'll be completely different once zouma, mina and Digne are all available and properly fit.

The season could be so much better than this and should be. We have played three easy opponents and have five points instead of 7/9 and we have casulaties and suspensions.

We have no defence as I see it. I dont see any good enough.

Hard to focus on any one single thing from that game though.

I really think this has to be used as a turning point.

We need to try and galvanise and draw strength form this mini-disaster. The injury and sendings off have to be used like rocket fuel for us.

Character is needed now in bucket loads.

Cant recall a day like this one for years.

I think there's a strong possibility your tongue was firmly planted beside your molars when you started this thread, but just in case, may I suggest the character you so desperately seek has already been on display given the team's reactions to going a man down. In both instances, instead of meekly surrendering and accepting a hiding, they battled. Under Moyes, Koeman, Allardyce and even the last two seasons under your idol, not a chance in Hades that would have happened..

Dave today is like watching old Martinez game at Everton though. Gonna to cry. Bloody hell can’t defending a 2-0 lead is criminal.
How many times did we do that under him? Not many. I'll let you count them and report back in the appropriate thread.

Nowhere near as bad as when we lost to West Ham at home from 2-0 up under El Fraudo.
No I'd say this was worse. West Ham was just a failure to deal with Andy Carroll and Payet, it was just a freak game, 2 players playing excellently and a few dodgy decisions from the manager. The difference here is we know that, we have a poor record at Bournmouth and that we have a habit of conceding late goals against them. All we needed to do is sit back and try and keep the ball, we concede a stupid penalty and then a goal straight afterwards. The penalty was also given by somebody who is past his best, another player past his best caused the goal against Wolves and got sent off in the process. Baines is an experienced professional who should know better. Whats worrying is that we still seem to be conceding silly goals and letting teams get back into games, which is worrying.

That's football for you. Thought wolves was a good point tbh, and after the pre season we had I've had taken 5 points and being undefeated. Today was hard to take but not the end of the world. The old guard will soon be out and a new, bosser Everton will emerge. We have 3 good home games to get stuck into next, so we should look forward to them and giving some new lads some game time as well.

Nope.

I cant believe anyone would think this nightmare day would elicit a thread like that.

Mods, do me a favour please - pull this thread. It's being interpreted as something it wasn't meant to be - either wilfully or otherwise.

Oh sorry mate, is that all that happened? I thought I made it pretty obvious THAT wasn't all that happened.

So when Coleman and McCarthy broke their legs they were also terrible, Black Saturday's I'm assuming.... Along with any other red card or ref decision that went against us.

The worst thing out of today is Keane's injury, I hope the lad has a speedy recovery, but the way you're acting I would have thought we've just been docked 20 league points for some reason.

Thought we played well. Sending off changed it a bit and we should've won.

Point away is always good. And Silva needs to sort the defence out cos he's very Martinez mark 2

There's spiriit there, but we cant keep on relying on coming back like this after a shot through our own feet.

And the defence is an ongoing crisis for us. We need to get upset and stay upset.

Less a crisis, more a problem. A problem that can be fixed with the fitness improving for Zouma, Digne and Mina.

Be a crisis if we concede two or three next weekend.
