2025/26 Beto

Interesting thought: Beto has played 1,205 PL minutes (13.4 x 90 mins) and scored 6 goals. Barry has played 1, 645 minutes (18.3 x 90mins) and scored 6 goals. So between them, they've pretty much shared the load. Their minutes combined add up to just over 31 games (90 mins) which funnily enough (or not  ) is the amount of games we've played. 12 goals combined, so my question is, if we'd had one striker playing every game and they were currently on 12 goals, would we view that as decent?
In this setup yeah

That's the league leader board, which once past the top four, includes 'strikers at big clubs whose output is considered disappointing' and 'talismans at mid-table clubs.'

Combined they'd be joint-fifth at 12 with Welbeck, so that's more than decent. It's not ELITE - Haaland is ELITE- but "better than anyone all but three clubs" is just fine.

It's commonly said around here, how good would be be with an elite striker? Looking at that shows you just how few elite strikers there are - Semenyo and Wilson are midfielders at that - and also something about the other clubs - how bad would these clubs be without their high scorers? Dom has 10 at Leeds and they're not out of a relegation scrap?

We're actually..... FRONT TO BACK A VERY GOOD FOOTBALLING SIDE, it turns out?!!?!!??!!

‘Who needs Neto, when we have Beto!’… Is what we should have been chanting to the Chelsea supporters after Saturday night’s game.

My first and only game at Goodison was this one: https://www.espn.com/soccer/match/_/gameId/671057/wolverhampton-wanderers-everton

the only goal was an excuse-me header at the death from some guy on Wolves I haven't heard from before or since, but Neto was the best player on the pitch that day. Pacy and strong, he was giving our defenders fits.

He's a shell of himself at Chelsea now. There is some bad karma hanging over that club. Body language is terrible. They're not playing for the badge, the fans, the manager, or each other, it seems.

I'm relishing that we not only dominated the scoreline, but we let them have it all afternoon physically. Every time a Chelsea player had a touch there were two or more blue shirts on him. Every time a Chelsea runner tried to break free he was tracked. Every second ball was contested.

Felt for Estevao- he's the only one who cared. He's the youngest by far and he tried to lead his mates by example, but that side full of pampered millionaires couldn't be bothered.
