2025/26 Beto

I love him, there I’ve said it.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a player work so hard!

Wish all are players worked so hard

Never going to be a 20-a-season striker, but cannot fault his commitment, work ethic and attitude.
Gives it all in every match, chases down everything and that's going to pay off in games like the Chelsea match.

We still need an upgrade in the striker position absolutely, but I have a lot of time for him.
Agree and yet I am hopeful that because he had such an incredibly late start in professional football, he still has room to grow.

Love him but I also loved Niasse when he was finally played and scoring goals. I know we need better but there is not a single player that I want to do well more than this lad.

Depends if we looked to play that type of through ball more often I wouldnt put it past him...

His best run of form came when we decided to play through balls instead of lumping it up

Mistake to move him on in the summer IMO, especially if we get some form of European football.

The kind of lad you want in your squad.
Nah should have been sold last summer. Cant be our 1st choice as hes been terrible for most the season and you can’t bring him on if you’re chasing a game and defenders are playing deep and you wouldn’t bring him on to protect a lead and retain possession.

He’s been way too inconsistent and we should sell whilst we can get a decent fee.

Fantastic today, head and shoulders ahead of that Delap
Delap showed me actually what we are woefully missing. A striker that we can play a ball into feet.
When Beto is playing, notice that our players do not want to pass to him with his back to goal. That's why we go sideways and are slow in attack.

When we can get the ball in front of him he's actually a very cool finisher, scored some clever goals for us (like his first yesterday).
But, he is a terrible footballer, let's be honest.

Like the guy, does get a fair number of goals and good for him. But most of the times it's like playing without a striker.

We just don't play enough to his strenghts. Garner showed the way yesterday.
Remember when he went on his scoring run last season then we played Bournemouth (possibly) who had clearly done their prep better, and the defence stood off, didn't let him get in behind and our whole plan fell apart. Playing to strengths is fine against half arsed teams and naive managers, as soon as it’s nullified he doesn’t have enough to do anything else.
Thought other parts of his game had improved towards the end of the season but for the majority of this season he has been very poor and we should look to sell in the summer.
