Terrorist organisations are listed as prescribed groups, but it is varied as to the organisations on that list and the Terrorism Act 2000 defines the specific instances where conviction can occur. The new Act from February makes it an offence to travel to 'designated areas' but it cannot be retrospectively applied.

I'd be amazed if she wasn't charged on specific grounds by the Police - they'll have been keeping tabs on her time in Syria and before she travelled.

While I have very little sympathy for this particular person I dont see her as any different to the 100s of others that have returned from there,using severed heads in bins as condemnation is pushing it,theres thousands in this country who derive pleasure from viewing sick videos, I feel its become a political football and getting used as a distraction for the mess the country is in at the minute

Part of the problem is 24 hour a day news channels needing stories,some of which have a slightly right wing leaning,then you have facebook/twitter were its easy to manipulate views through less than honest news
