And how much are you going to pay for that proper footballer? And once you've bought him what are you going to do with him? Who do you drop him for or how do you keep him happy if he takes Bernies place on the bench?
It more about rotating players. 45 mill would be a decent amount.
Man U showed us what opinions from the bench can do

Bernard won’t be here.
The idea is to have 4 quality attackers for your front 3 positions. And a very good back up for DCL, not just a back up, someone who will take his place if he has a dip in form. 6th choice is iwobi, 7th a youngster IE Gordon.

And the same in midfield
There we have the crux of the matter but you still don't see it.

Our problem is not that we have Bernie as 8th choice for the front 3 positions, but that we have Siggy Iwobi and Tosun as 4th 5th and 6th choices.

It was a big mistake to loan out Kean without bringing in a direct replacement and we also need a top speedy front man to cover both flanks

I don’t see it, but at the bottom of your post, you point out what I’ve been saying all night lol lol

The options we have are garbage. And they will be upgraded over the next few windows

We need a strong 15/16 to compete. At the moment I'd say we have maybe 13/14 of them. Bernard , as I said, is not even in our match day squad when everyone is fit. He's cover for the match day squad and we NEED players like him, and Davies and Gordon for when we have bad injuries like now.

I repeat, the only reason he is coming off the bench now is because we have so many injuries to first choice players.

If our first choice line up is a front four of Richarlison James Iwobi behind DCL then Bernard is arguably first sub for both flank positions. If he was able to keep any sort of decent form he’d probably be Carlo’s first pick off the bench every time but he hasn’t which is why Gordon Sigurdsson Davies and even fullbacks have all come on in wide areas ahead of him.

In his best form and fitness I like him as he can handle the ball properly but he just can’t display that enough and anything less than that he’s just another player too slow for the premier league.

Surprised me when he came especially in the awful conditions, I thought he’d get blown over by the wind or even worse drown in a small puddle but he seemed to get stuck in and look up for it, need that effort in all games wether it’s a 10 minute cameo or full 90

presumably we would get a fee for him

and he has such little effect on the team that we could replace him with anyone, or no-one

Agreed. He's so far down the pecking order him going or staying will not determine our future
Nobody batted an eyelid when we loaned Walcott because he looked a spent force and he was inhibiting Gordon’s chances of minutes. As soon as he starts playing well people were clamouring saying how big a mistake it was. We can’t have it both ways. Hindsight is pointless unless you can see into the future.
