Obviously a long way to go for the lad and we of course need to temper our expectations, but I thought he looked very composed and wasn't shy to tackle. Looks like he has a bright future!

Best hair/beard combo in pro footy atm imo!!! :p
So, start him relentlessly in all comps for the next two months, wonder why he doesn't produce, then sell to Chelsea next summer then?

Thats the performance i've been expecting from Schneiderlin. Commited in the tackle, tidy on the ball, disciplined and all from a lad making his debut on 1 days notice of being called up from the U23's.

He started to slip towards the end notably on the goal but fair to put it down to tiredness, thought he was brilliant 1st half and for majority of the 2nd half.

The young lads showed up tonight as did Jimmy Mac on his return, the Koeman lads are going to have a struggle to fight for their place which is what's needed, not a manager belittling the young lads in the U23s and providing no competition for places.

Said in the match thread I thought the game was passing him by in the first half. Can't go back and watch to see if I missed something but thought he imposed himself on the second very nicely.

He's decent but he doesn't cover the weaknesses of Morgan and Gueye. He's not creative and not a pivot like Barry.

It's blend. Blend. Blend. We have lots of good players but not the right ones.

All said he played very well.

seemed a bit lost in the first half although always looked decent on the ball. second half he grew into the game, a solid debut.

I’ve been saying for absolutely ages that he should play but that clueless Dutch tit wasn’t having any of it. I was banging on about it all the time. He’s a top player and If he does well then I will bask in my superior football knowledge and let everybody know that I saw him first. My fat arse mates at the pub will show me so much respect.

Laughing a lot at that to be honest
