Beer, revisited

I drink local. I pass two breweries on my way home from work, both with tap rooms. Life is good.

Dropped by the Aviator Taphouse this weekend to fill up a housewarming growler.

What do I find?

A Haberno infused Saison.

I had to try, so I got a growler of it. Holy f it's spicy. It's like eating hot wings and drinking beer without the messy step. It's quite tasty. But a novelty, I doubt I'll get another growler of it, but I'm quite happy to have experienced it.

Nearly drank the entire growler that night.

Oskar Blue's Old Chub Scotch Ale was quite tasty.

Oskar Blue's in general is pretty good. Brewery out of Brevard, NC. Not the best stuff I've ever had, but drinkable and flavorful. I'd call them average to above-average for a microbrewery.

Check them out if you get the chance, they may have spread further than some of the more local breweries I've mentioned as they're significantly further from me and I can pick up variety packs at the grocery store.

i could have sworn Oskar Blues was out of Colorado? But yeah, solid beer.

Restocked today at a store in Little Rock with more Unibroue than may be healthy plus some Ommegang, 2 bottles of Liefman's Goudenband, Boulevard Love Child #4 (which was highly recommended, but I've never had), and some cider that looks like the Mrs Nigh will enjoy. I will most definitely be posting some of this in the coming days.

my local has a micro brewery. theyve put one on tap which uses the new zealand savion hop. lovely ale its a good session beer.
