Beer, revisited

What's with that glass? I understand the tulip shape for certain styles, but that's unusual.
It's supposed to be something to do with the glass needing to be hung on coaches in the 1800s for coachmen who stopped at the bar but couldn't leave their horses.

It's also a decent marketing ploy

This as well, but I don't regularly drink from it... come to think of it, where'd it go?

almost bought that, had too many odd beer glasses as it was. some in storage, a lot given away.

sadly the beer situation in Asuncion is fairly dire. Miller. Bud. Brahma. Bavarien. Pilsen. basically watery German-style lagers.

seen some Hacker-Pschorr at one bodega (dubbed "La Boozedaga" by me as they also have excellent scotch... Lagavulin 16 ffs), and some Fullers for about $3.50US a 2 minute walk away.

at the least they serve their beers, even in winter, in a nice big bucket of ice.

In another thread you admitted that if someone hands you a Bud Light, you'd put it to rest. I understand that what happens in Ascuncion stays in Ascuncion, but I thought that comment needs permanent documentation.

Tonight's tipple is a taste of the US via Bristol - Great Western Brewery's Moose River American Pale Ale, bloody lovely this is, plenty of malt but enough hop to balance it into a lightly fruity IPA with a bit of refreshing sharpness. Think this might be my go-to ale for the rest of the summer.

Sure. I admit it. In the States I would never buy Bud, but if someone gave me a bottle I would drink it. Would be bad form not to.

Here in Asuncion it might be necessitated at some point, can't go thirsty now, can I? Beggars cannot be choosers.
