Has the headlock been acknowledged once in this?

Yes, in episode 2 which covers the period. The reaction and the push-back from the fans is accurately reported, Ian Wright's initial comments and subsequent apology is included, DBB was contacted for comment but refused.

Chong (interviewed months later in another episode) basically stands by the allegation whilst pathetically trying to re-write history as @GrandOldTeam says. Pretending it wasnt a despicable attempt at self-preservation. Saying board members "couldn't" go to games because of threats received online and in letters. He isn't challenged as to why there was no police report or CCTV footage which is frustrating to be honest. He ends with how he and everyone else at the club "just wants to move on". I bet you all do, whopper.

It's pretty clear though that since then, other than a handful of long-term mates of Kenwright, the media in this country don't trust anything the club tells them. With BK's obsessive desire to be loved and to be seen as a charming grandad figure, this surely kills him.

So clubs are having multi £m Netflix documentaries made about them and we go for a podcast.
The podcast medium is every bit as vital as the video documentary. I might prefer it. A solid long form podcast is a real pleasure. Without opining on this particular show- I’ve heard the first 15 minutes of episode 1 so I’m not making an opinion yet- there’s no reason to think that a podcast is going to be “worse” than a video doc.

Not worse but it’s the less popular medium with less exposure and money involved. Personally I watch hours of streamed tv every week but prefer to listen to music in the car and the office rather than a podcast.

I think it’s been fantastic.

They addressed all the issues and I think there’s a lot of finger pointing at the board. They addressed the headlock, acknowledged there was no suggestion it was true.

The club was painted very well, I thought Thelwell was open, I thought it was very good to listen to Coleman, the chefs and everything. We have a good club here, just the powers above ruining it for everyone.

only listened to the first episode but thought Thelwell came across well. Funny hearing that his 77 year old dad is a fanatical Evertonian and his toughest critic!

I just love the depth they’ve went into.

The chef knowing Doucoure food pattern during Ramadan, when he didn’t know, got a detail.

Thelwell clearly explaining the January window, was good.

Getting the fans on, they all spoke well. Getting Woan, EiTC, Secretary on, the club is stil thriving inspite of the board.
