He's a spoilt footballer. Since childhood he's been told he can do Wat he wants when he wants. Now he's a adult millionaire he's exercising that.

I do think there is an element of this in it. But I also believe, for want of a better word, Ross is a bit dim. I don't think he has a lot between his ears.

You can see it in the way he speaks, the way he behaves in his personal life, his infantile use of social media, even in the way it manifests itself on the pitch. He looks to have the mental capacity of somebody 10 years younger, so you can understand why he is behaving literally like a big kid.

Now I don't know what his family/close friend situation is, but from his antics you have to assume that they do little to keep him grounded. So he's extremely vulnerable to somebody getting too close to him and having far too much influence over his thinking and decision making.

I suppose you could call this putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 10, but I think this is exactly what is happening here. Somebody, most probably somebody in his agents set up (maybe the agent himself) is feeding Ross the poison, turning him against his hometown club and bigging up the move elsewhere, even down to the financial benefits of running down his contract.

It wouldn't be hard would it?. Look Ross they're booing you. See how the manager always criticises you in public. See how they're selling all their best players. Look at all the playmakers they're bringing in to take your place. You need to get away from Liverpool Ross. Look at how much Rom's getting at United. Look at Stonesy, an ever present in the England set up since he went to City. FFS all he has to do is show him some of the comments in the Ross Barkley thread on GOT if he needed a bit more persuasion. All the time blowing smoke up his arse about him walking into any team in the premiership and being a first choice starter for England.

I may just be making excuses for the lad, but I'm trying explain to myself how this inexplicable turn of events has come about, and this is the only thing that makes any sense.

Seems like Everton were the ones with the excuses:

Play with some of the finest players in the league. Players such as ex Ajax captain Davy Klaassen and a Barcelona reject who scored a dozen goals for the mighty Malaga! Let’s not forget Gylfi Sigurdsson, top assister from free kicks. Cost us a cool £45m don’t you know Ross?

Look at our ambition! One of the top 10 highest paid managers in world football with Big Sam Allardyce, NEVER been relegated. Who else can compete with THAT accolade? Maybe our league position could reflect his place on the pay scale?

Learn from the best staff. Lots of ex Everton “winners” and let’s not forget Craig Shakespeare, he failed at a PL winning side, not bad eh? Then we have the ever popular Sammy Lee and Franny “fox in the box” Jeffers who once played for Arsenal, when they were good!

Look at the players we hope to bring in. Cenk the German/Turkish striker, he’ll be good for us, but only after a few weeks negotiating an extra £5kp/w. Better late than never though eh Ross?

Plus look at our European campaign! Yeah alright, it was a tough group though wasn’t it?

Honestly, why would he stay?!

But this is a dedicated thread where we conjure up excuses to rationalise why, our dear Ross Barkley - wouldn't just move to another club, but would do so in the snidest way possible.

So, let's not regurgitate the other thread, instead simply state an excuse defending Ross Barkley here. I'll start with some;

Koeman bullied him.
Unsworth looked at him a bit "funny"
Allardyce bullied him.
He was fuming he was only offered £120k when Rooney come in and was on "well more".
Gangsters, innit?
Evertonian's didn't make banners, dedicate songs etc to him enough.
Kenwright, definitely Kenwright.
He wants Champions League football, he deserves a new challenge.
