BANNED FROM FINCH FARM

sad no way to treat a fan, and deffo not one as good as bally, fair enough if they dont want him to post reports, just ask him not to ,easy to check on here if he does, but stopping him going the games themselves is a bit low. arrogant bastards

The more I think about this the angrier I get. My fist would like to make inappropriate contact with Mr Elstone's sh*t eating grin.

Seriously, is there anything we can do though? A petition to the club by the multitudes on here maybe? If that's not too "kopite"

The law is plain mate, for defamation to occur then one person has to share their libellous comments with AN other, besides you & then you have to prove that their words are damaging to your reputation. I think that by sharing them on a website himself, then he's not got anywhere to go with that one imo.

In any case it's a moot point, as that form of litigation is cost prohibitive & not really where he should be heading here imo. As this is about the mans lifestyle being damaged by a stupid decision made by some [Poor language removed] with a bunker mentality & a head full of marbles. Kenwright is the correct route here, not the courtroom.

Been said already but this is an absolute joke. What a way to treat a loyal fan who was doing bugger all wrong. The club should've offered AB a job let alone ban him from Finch Farm. Utterly ridiculous. I hope the suits are pleased with themselves. People's Club my arse.

On the money this.

I also just read this,i am shocked by every thing you have said alan ball.

I cant get my head around this,i have met 3 of the people you mentioned in your post..i.e rowan, griffen and dickinson and this is not right the way you have been treated,i am in liverpool for 2 weeks over christmas and the new year and i will be meeting these 3 at regular times and i hope alan ball you dont mind but i will be bring the topic up to these fella....there are fans from all over the world look forward to your reports....sicken,gutted and very angry by the way you have been treated...

Thanks for taking a stand for Bally mate, that's really good of you. It's the vagueness and insinuations of why he was banned that none of us can really understand. His reports are inoffensive and uncontroversial. There has to be some sort of ulterior motives at play here.

Alan Ball not the only example of this hard nosed, couldn't give a toss, drunk on power tactics from the club:

Richard Knights, a middle aged primary school teacher and a 50 season veteran has had his season ticket away from him for being opposed to the club's free school plan.

Now that is pretty sinister.

I'm seriously, seriously fuming over this. I wish I didn't care about the f*cking club right now.

Dont feel that way mate; they are NOT the club...they're just wankstains who happen to control it for a period of time. The club is something more than those ham-fisted, disgraceful bureaucrats.

Maybe not the place for a debate on the law mate, but i think he may have something here, i was looking at it from a different angle then posting the detail on here - libelous is the written word, slander is the spoken. If that letter was distributed to more then one person be they club officals or no, i think he has something clearly if there were three people at that meeting im sure they had copies of the letter. In terms of slander arguably, the clubs behaviour of banning from finch farm can be construed as a slur on his charicter as no doubt several people again be they club officals or no were informed of the banning for "inapropriate contact" it to be enforced. Im sure over the years Bally is on persoanal terms with a lot of them. The persoanal suffering this can bring is subjective/perceptional and so arguable.

Perhaps your right on the course on action, there are two issues here for me the stain the inference on his charicter brings to him and his family and his treatment by the club which is despicable. You would be amazed with the results are carefully crafted solictors letter can bring.

Dear Everton FC

I've lived in London for fifteen years now but have still tried to get to Goodison Park and spend forty quid of my hard-earned cash (not to mention hotel fees) on watching my beloved team several times each season. I also spend hundreds of quid on gear from Everton Direct. No more.

The shocking way in which you have treated the Grand Old Team board member known as "Alan Ball" - a man who puts my own "devotion" to the club to shame in his tireless following of reserve and youth team games all over the country - has left me sick to the guts and although I think I'd find it impossible to stop going to Goodison I will now no longer spend a penny at Everton Direct. I can get my t-shirts from WSAG and Philosphy Football.

In the meantime, I urge you to please reconsider this mystifying decision.
