Martinez's desperation to pull rank on Baines for simply saying what everyone else can see shows how far gone he is as Everton manager #EFC
9:36 AM - 7 Apr 2016

Richard Buxton is the moron who was caught slagging Hillsborough victims off "anonymously". Actually a complete scumbag. Perfect for modern sports journalism.

On topic, Baines did nothing wrong whether he was misquoted or not. RM just digging himself a bigger hole. Only thing that can save him is FA cup.

This reminiscent of last season when the players piped up and asked for a change in tactics.

"Lukaku said after the West Ham game that the Everton players had asked Martinez if they could go longer sometimes too."

From: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...or-everton-will-learn-ugly-truth-9969064.html

It's common to see players talk about bad performances, bad run of form etc in post match interviews or whatever, but I don't remember other players from other clubs talking to the press about tactical inefficiencies...

It does really seem like there has been discontent behind the scenes for some time now.

Baines has been nothing other than a loyal servant and ambassador for our club.

Moyes turned him into the best left back in Europe and then offered him the opportunity to follow him to current Champions Man United and he turned it down (tempted though he was and that is understandable).

He has always put Everton first and I would believe him 100%. The truth is staring us in the face after every pathetic 90mins of football in the league.

Not long left for Roberto now.

Roberto is gone. Lets players get away with half-baked performances, consistently messes his tactic up, then when someone talks some common sense, finally decides to grow a pair.

Close the door on your way out Roberto.

Wonder if the derby might do for RM what it did for Rodgers.

Frankly I don't want to give RM any more time. Get him out before the semi, it's our only hope. An unlikely cup win bears a real possibility that he'll survive. I don't want to chance it.

Yeah let's sack the manager 3 days before Wembley. That's a good idea.

Question: do you want to win the cup knowing that Martinez will be in charge for all of next season?

So it looks like what Bainesy meant to say was that "we have no chemicals" - obvious that they had used them all up realy seeing as they were all smacked off their tits to play so badly against the Arse and the Mancs.

Journalism must be dying in the UK if we have no luck as a team was misinterpreted as we have no chemistry as a team.

Managerial spin has now got to the stage of filling the sandbags with the detritus that falls out of his mouth.

Try the truth Bobby, just for once, you never know we might respect you and get onboard!

Oh good, more ridiculous WUMming.

1) Everyone wants to win the cup.
2) Most of us want Martinez replaced.
3) The prior two are NOT mutually exclusive.

Please stop suggesting that wanting Martinez out is somehow the same as wanting to not win the Cup. Your support for the manager is admirable, if very misplaced, but please accept that people can disagree with you about Martinez yet STILL want the club to succeed.

This is ridiculous.

You play to win things! You would get rid if we win our first trophy in eons because we didnt win the best of the rest mid table trophy?

I dont get football anymore. Sixth place is better than winning something. Whats the point?

Winning a cup is succeeding though right?

We'll beat Watford 1-0. Leighton Baines peno in the 78th minute off a Deulofeu dive. It will be boss.
Baines will celebrate by getting a Bunson Burner out of his shorts and start waving it around the manager's face screaming 'How's this for Chemistry you clown?!'

I can't be more positive than that right now.

Cart / horse. Let's WIN something before bigging up the whole 'people would rather be 6th than win a trophy'. Because trying to a semi at Wembley isn't actually winning something yet.

In that scenario no. I may be in a minority with that and be called a kopite (despite being the opposite of one?) but no. I didnt even watch the game sunday, i just didn't want to. that is exactly how the end of Moyes reign felt for me, just didn't enjoy watching us.

I want to win the cup, even more so if it was announced martinez wouldn't be here next season before hand. But to take another full season with him i would rather take our chances with a new manager doing it rather than have another season not backing the manager.
