What logic are you using for that opinion?

Distin is 35 and still at it. Ashley Cole is 33 next month and is still considered first-choice for England.

It's strikers who tend to blow colder post-30, not defenders. And Utd blew 30m on a 28-year old Berbatov, so there's every reason to expect they'd be willing to value Baines at 16m

I also suspect a ceiling was agreed with the fee, making it financially beneficial to the player. Saying that, I might be entirely wrong and would be delighted to see him sign a contract to end all speculation.

As would i mate, but i think if he genuinely wanted to stay at Everton this contract situation would have been resolved, if not, we'd at least know that negotiations are ongoing. At the moment the stance is 'No contract offered' which tells me, Baines, unfortunately isnt interested in one.

Baines is among the very finest blues of the Premiership-era. My heart says keep too. But I voted "yes", as my head says the Martinez Masterplan would benefit from a transfer kitty, some of which would go on a young ballplaying leftback from La Liga.
