The Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has unanimously voted it was correct that Hwang Hee-Chan was not sent off in the 1-1 draw with Everton earlier this month.

The Wolves forward was booked by referee Tom Kirk in the 76th minute after catching Harrison Armstrong on the calf with a high challenge.

Everton boss David Moyes was also angered that Michael Keane was dismissed for pulling the hair of Tolu Arokodare in the 80th minute. The KMI Panel voted 5-0 in favour of the red card.

Moyes said after the game: "What Michael Keane did was a three-game ban and a sending off, but [the challenge on Armstrong] was a nothing in the game and not recognised either by the VAR or the referee. It sounds like they've got all their things in the wrong places at the moment."

The KMI Panel said that while "the point of contact was high, there was a lack of force and intensity" and that it "supported the referee's call of a yellow card".

It added that Keane's actions were violent conduct and "not a legitimate part of a challenge for the ball".

Jack Grealish was later sent off for a second bookable offence after sarcastically clapping the referee. This was supported 4-1 by the panel.

The problem is that for us every time this season that the decision has been “a matter of opinion or interpretation” the opinion or interpretation has been to our detriment. We have seen other games where identical incidents have been given different interpretations.

That way they can argue that the decisions are correct in both cases and they can get the decisions they want in games.

VAR has just allowed corruption to be legitimised.

If there was a vote to ask fans if they should scrap VAR is would be a unanimous "yes" however if you ask the people who run the game it would be "no" this shows the disconnect

The whole thing is due to lack of neutrality. Everyone has something to gain/loose by these opinion decisions. Then its all backed up by others with similar affiliations. All about money, nothing about the sport.

Laughable

To be fair I don't think it was a red card, I never noticed it watching but only when sent a clip in a WhatsApp chat. It looks bad in slow motion but at normal speed it's just a challenge.

Everything in slow motion looks a lot worse.

If that was a red card we should have had someone sent off at the weekend when someone raked studs on a Villa player who then rolled about in agony milking it. At normal speed it was a bit late but slow motion once again made it look a lot worse.

The refereeing is crap.

Suspect the linesman thought it was O'Brien in the offside position which was why he flagged? It gave the VAR cheats all they needed ...
