Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

I’m pretty sure the law says it will be given if you challenge for the ball, no interpretation needed
VAR is for clear and obvious errors! Or that was what they sold it as. Black and white decisions not subjective and that’s a decision that will be given as a goal next week.

Right or wrong on any particular decision the problem is PGMOL, ex-RS and Utd pundits, PL review panels etc. all just love to have a circle jerk to celebrate obscure spotting of a technical infringement that no-one saw or cared about and congratulate themselves on interpreting rule26(b)(ii) in a way that it was never meant for. All whilst fans fall further out of love with what the sport has become.

It's a self-fulfilling cycle.

Both the pros dont like the call, but the refs will circle wagons like they always do and hide behind an interpretation of the laws
Yep exactly - goal all day, and rather than use VAR to fix the assistant referee's mistake, they've used it to protect them instead and come to the wrong decision. The subjectivity in the rules will allow for that
