Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

Players often put their hand on an opponent’s shoulder, back, grab a handful of shirt whilst challenging for a header for leverage or stability. I suspect Keane’s hand just landed on the players hair, being long, and that’s about it. There was no aggression or violence in the action whatsoever. Three game ban would be a joke. Appeal is a must

As much as I agree, they will never overturn it on appeal.

Neither of the decisions where bad.
How anyone thinks keanes sending off isn’t a bad decision is beyond me. Hes jumped behind him, put his hand on his back, got his hair and pulled it a tiny bit. It’s not even a foul, nor a yellow, defo not a red. It’s the leagues agenda against us again.

Pen against Leeds which wasn’t
Pen against brighton Which wasn’t
Sending off against United when a quiet word and 2 yellows would of been fine
None penalty against Burnley for the same thing as against Leeds and Brighton
None penalty against Arsenal
Sending off for a hair pull against Wolves yet Hwang doesn’t see red for a tackle from beyond calf wrecker. Sure Gordon got sent off against Liverpool for similar (for Newcastle)

The list just goes on and on and on. It’s the same every season. The likes of Grealish is now starting to see it, at City everything goes for you and you’re protected. For Everton it’s basically a kick me and foul me all the time but you won’t get them. It’s a joke. The whole referring system in the league is awful.

He's got a handful of the lads braids. Whether he meant it and it was just instinct, it doesn't matter. He held them, gave it a tug, won a header.

Wed be livid if the same thing happened to one of ours and they got away with it.
I can honestly say I would not be livid if an opponent got away with that because I didn't even realise anything had happened. That's how absurd the decision was

What I am pretty annoyed about is a Wolves didn't receive a red card for stamping on our players calf. That's a shocking challenge

Brilliant post. Its been going on for years.

To recap...

KDH - suspended for a yellow card for kicking a rolling ball on an everton freekick. Then in the following game a booking for winning the ball.

Gana - Slapping his own team mate.

Keane - Pulling an opponents hair.

Grealish - for being sarcastic to the ref
Yellow card for imitating a seagull

Anyone who thinks Keane's offense isn't a red card is living in an alternate dimension. Seriously? You don't think he can tell the difference in feel between a shirt and some hair, that he wrapped his hand the whole way round and pulled? You think he did that by accident?? I've been playing football (organised leagues and friendly kickabouts) for 40 years, and never once accidently wrapped my hand fully around someone's hair and pulled it. Sometimes I wonder if people commenting on here have ever played football. Today I have to question if some of you actually live on this planet. Completely delusional.

Swedish lower league footballer Adam Lindin Ljungkvist was given a second booking in 2016 for breaking wind during a game.

The referee called his flatulence "unsportsmanlike" and thought he was "farting on someone else".

"I was standing a good distance away but I heard the fart loud and clear," Kristoffer Linde, a striker for opposition team Jarna SK, told a local newspaper.

Don’t think we can argue with the decisions, even the red for Keane, although harsh. Perhaps a yellow, never violent conduct but you can see what stupid var has seen and why they have told him to overturn his non-decision.

Grealish was a dope, end of.
Grealish deserved to be sent off for his petulance but Keanes sending off was a joke and anyone who thinks that's violent conduct I'd have to question their logic
