Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

Keane's stupid but why is VAR reffing the game?

Grealish was just stupid full stop.
Unless there’s an angle I’ve not seen I don’t see why Keane was stupid. From the one angle I saw it didn’t look like he’d deliberately grabbed his hair and yanked it, just that he’d gone to get a handful of his shirt as every defender does in those situations and ended up with his hair instead. If I’m wrong fair enough but that’s all I’ve seen.

It wasn’t deliberate, you are correct. Sometimes it’s tough to judge intent, but no one in the world would ever think to do that mid air, let alone be able to pull it off.

when were we last down to 9 players?
For us

Brantwaite & Rondon v Brentford May 2022.
Neville & Hibbert v Liverpool Oct 2007
Arteta & Neville v Liverpool December 2005
Naismith & Weir v Liverpool April 2003

Against Us

Scholes & Neville in April 2005 is last time in league we had 2 players sent off v us, Otherwise its sep 2007 v Kharkiv in Euro Game

I meant it's stupid not from Keane because I don't think he purposely meant to do so but he pulls his hair.

He does it but I don't know if it's intentional or accidental, the rules are "violent" conduct but VAR should show it however the ref has to take into account the "violence" attached.

He's a new ref who got bullied into a decision by VAR. Clubs should demand audio of all decisions and if incorrect, FA should be banning and fining officials

I am fed up of VAR reffing games and not getting it correct. It's every week and most clubs.

Once I got sent off (the only time) in a youth game in Liverpool. The ref had been awful all game and given nothing to us. Finally I got chopped down and he gave the free kick. I picked myself up and announced "And, your comedians tonight - are the referee".
For those of a certain age......

I thought “violent conduct” was for things when not challenging for the ball? That’s how the rules are written, anyway.
West Ham had a player sent off a few years ago when he cleared the ball cleanly and the opposition player ran onto his foot and made a meal of it. The standard of officiating is awful in the Premier League.
