Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

It is coming to the point when Everton need to make a statement by walking off the pitch and calling out the corruption. Draw attention to the clear agenda.
My issue is that neither red led to the shocking defending for their goal. It was just a side show that killed the game off at 1-1.

Football is finished for me. Any excitement has been coached out of the players and it is just play by numbers. Haven't enjoyed a game in years. Fans don't care, owners don't care. Players don't care. What's the point?

It was interesting watching RefWatch the other day. Bothroyd said that an incident in the box is treated differently than if it is outside the box, i.e. the tolerance is different. Gallagher then tore a strip out of Bothroyd and did his best to embarrass him by saying that his statement was nonsense.

Then I saw an incident in our game tonight where one of our players was chasing a Wolves player and put his arms on the player. Foul given. Fair enough. My point being that it was fairly minor but you see what happens at nearly every corner whereby defenders drag opposition players to the ground and a penalty is rarely given. They are given sometimes when the defender is not watching the ball at all. Indeed, sometimes they have the back to the ball.

Bothroyd was correct. Location on the pitch matters but Gallagher wasn't having it whatsoever.

Gallagher is nothing but a simpering yes man who backs up all his former cronies no matter how bad the decision was.

In isolation, letter of the law, and all that, I can see how the ref pulls out two reds there.

But it's two red cards when the opposition have barely been disadvantaged, which is what the red card is supposed to be for. Just a complete over-refereeing of the game.

Just because we were rubbish doesn't mean the officiating also wasn't abysmal

Wtf is 'refwatch', isn't this half the problem? They should make sure rules are being followed during the game and that's it, no podcasts, tv appearances etc. when I was fully into football in the 00's I could only name Graham Poll, now there are loads of them. Half of them might be getting into the job to be a celebrity

We’ll be missing both players for future match(es). It’s not just a side show.

But yes we were poor again in the 2nd half and the defending on their goal is just bizarre, but seems to be our standard at the moment
