we seem to be cursed or something with our centre-forwards

It's the old One-Year syndrome, think about it, only Saha has managed to break the spell!!

Beattie - Top scorer 05/06, couldn't hit a barn door 06/07

Johnson - Exactly the same but one year after

Yakubu - Turned into Fat Abbot

"Hey Hey Hey!! what's going down y'all??"

Im unashamedly biased when it comes to the Yak.

But today with a serious lack of varience or penetration to our play in the final third, he gave us an extra dimension, we looked more of a threat and he impacted hugely on the game.

Has to start for me.

Definitely.

Saha is unreliable, and compared to the Yak he's one dimensional. Beckford is... well... Beckford.

The Yak needs to be starting, with Timmy behind him. If Moyes has been willing to start with Beckford, and give him the time when in the present he offers nothing, he should be willing to give the Yak a run of games. Because no matter how crap he's playing, he'll still pull off neat passes and link up well.

Now that the window's come and gone, upon reflection, I'm positively made up to have the Yak's big smile still at Goodison.

Assuming no injuries, this is just absurd. Saha, on top of his game and up for it, is sensational. He hasn't seemed "up for it" for quite a while, of course.

It isn't.

He's one dimensional compared to the Yak. Even when on form. By that I mean, he's a goal scorer. But that's it. He's very selfish, and that's okay when you're banging them in, but when you're not... The Yak on the other hand looks to bring others into play.

When they are on top of there game, both players are unplayable, which is why it's frustrating that they don't do it enough. Saha's performances against Manchester Utd and Chelsea last season where fantastic all round performances with a bit of everything. If he could play like that every week, he'd be playing for a top Champions League team.

Yakubu also has inconsistencies but he's a much more consistent and intelligent link up man. He's very aware and has great passing ability with either foot. He's also much more likely to get involved in the play, which benefits the side more than Saha, who's a very central striker and doesn't use the flanks alot.

I have to agree with RFUS as good as Saha and Beckford are as natural finsihers, their game is playing of defenders in space, Yak can engage the midfeild, face defenders, play on the flank, hold up play, provide assists, physical presence, quality distribution, be a threat centrally and score.

He has to be no 1.

But he has to prove his fitness first. There are a lot of question marks hanging over him.

I find that strange, i think its oppurtunity - something has obviously gone down behind the scences - so i think the fitness line is a catch all.

Similar to Coleman and Billy i think its oppurtunity and Baines when Lescott kept him out of the team.
