Australian Evertonians?

Hi there.

So I'll be immigrating to Australia in a couple of months. So among other things, I was thinking how would I get to watch Everton live on TV in Oz? Apart from searching for live streams, do I have to subscribe to certain channels? Heard something about getting Optus which shows some PL games so far.

So just thought if there are some Aussie Evertonians here, they could have a better clue what's the best way to watch Everton down under.

Thanks!
Get your mobile with OPTUS, I think they will still give you a mini box for $5per month for the first year. If your phone is unlocked you're laughing. There's a big sales pitch on to sign up customers with 'no contract' (conditions apply naturally) don't dive in, really, really, shop around, they'll rob you blind. But OPTUS are the only ones with PL access
Where you going to?
Where ever it is the Internet speeds are atrocious

I am actually quite intrigued about the slangs they use already. Short words are the way of life.

Could do without the giant spiders though! lol
I'm seriously spider phobic and I've never had to send for the missus. Hardly ever even seen a spider and I live in sub tropical Brisbane, seen the odd queensland brown snake (2nd deadliest in the country), but if you live in a 'big' city you will have to go to a zoo to see a kangaroo or Koala.

I see myself in Melbourne in the long run but I'll be moving to Sydney initially. I'll be in the Silverwater or Paramatta region as I know a few people there. Timings would be very odd for the games I know cos of the 9 hour time difference. Sure mate, would be nice to catch up with a fellow blue. :)
Sydney or Melbourne is seriously expensive even for entry level and the weather in Melb is 'erratic' 19c one day 42c the next. But I'm biased living in Brisbane

When I lived in Auss around 2000, I met a guy and he had an everton tattoo. I couldnt believe it! He told me he he had been out of the country twice the first time he went and saw Everton play some terrible relegation match and then flew home straight after and the second match he cashed in his life insurance and went for three days and watched us lose to some [Poor language removed] team in the rain.

I thought....bloody hell thats devotion!

You do realise that Australia has the highest rate of television piracy in the world. The main reason being that no one wants to show things here. I would think of something to do with cric(ket) free tv. See if this stays here or not.

Yep, go to Sydney first & get the backpacker lifestyle out of your system. Then come to Melbourne for a City to live in rather than visit.

Weather is nicer in Brisbane...apart from the occasional Cyclone & floods but if you enjoy variety in your weather & like the idea of a full wardrobe with options, then Melbournes the place.

Something happening everyday & if you love your sport, again, it's Melbourne. Australian Open Tennis, Formula One GP, Moto GP (2 hrs away on Philip Island), Boxing Day Test, Melbourne Cup, AFL (go for Essendon...Black Watch kit), NRL (Melbourne Storm), ARU (Melbourne Rebels), and two A-League teams, Melbourne Victory & Melbourne City (Man City Affiliate).

Welcome! ;)

Desperately jealous of people emigrating to Oz. You need more obstetricians/gynaecologists right? Taking the missus out there next year & to NZ to try to convince her!
If you have trouble getting in go to NZ, get Citizenship as soon as, then do a runner to Oz...Allegedly.
FYI; Warm in Brisbane all year round not so much Sydney and even less Melbourne...just sayin like.

edit; This may only apply to me, but I was able to save more money in Oz in 5yrs than I did in NZ in 15..

Hawks mate, go the mighty Hawks.

Haha the game timings will test just how big of a blue you are.

The Bournemouth game starts at 12am this week. I'll be up.

I know, proper test that. Tbh watching the game at 1 am on late Saturday night is still doable with the 3 pm kick offs in UK. The 8 pm (UK) kick offs would mean having to wake up at 6 am in Oz. But I'll either get up or stay up late. The fumometer will need more calibration if we put on stinkers like the Spurs game though.

Another Evertonian in Oz - you b Loody beauty mate! What a bonza thing to do cobber!!
Oh I'm from Melbourne! Best ruddy city in the whole flamin country mate!

I moved to tassie earlier this year from the UK. Optus sport is the way to go, all live games can be streamed and they've got the vast majority of all the league games on demand. It's something like $15 a month too. Good luck with your move.

Sounds wonderful that mate. Thanks a lot!

Tassie is actually on my bucket list. Very UK like that place I heard. Would love to visit.
