As what you have typed is the exact same thing these people i mentioned always repeat...

Have you considered the fact a 16 year old can actually think for themselves and have intelligent thoughts and opinions.

This does not make your case any better. You make it seem like she is 8 not 16. Have you considered like many parents who have 16 and 17 year olds that they trust their daughter and want to allow her express her thoughts and opinions.

There are many teens and children who do good work for causes even younger than her. If she was speaking up about some ranbdom thing no one would care and would probably say fair play. But anything devisive and she is exploited and abused. Just like the teens in the US against guns.

Again OCD is not severe and seemingly her Asperger is controllable ie she has normal functions. She is educated and seemingly has no issues with that aspect in her life.

Stop using them as some sort of quantifier. Again shame on you.

Just try not to make out that I am having a pop at a poor kid because she has a mental condition. You know that is not the case.

Her parents are feeding her fear. They are exploiting her. If that was my kid, and she was in that state - actually crying about it, I certainly wouldn't be putting her on a world tour for everyone to see. It's a disgrace. But hey - shame on me..

And no - a sixteen year is a child. No doubt they do have intelligent thoughts, but no sixteen year old on the planet is qualified to school any of us in life.

Why you even quoted wiki is baffling it doesn't backup or reinforce anything you say. Especially if you know nothing about her or how bad the condition is she is afflicted with.

Again with the blame game. It's possible its something she wanted. Maybe her parents are simply encouraging her to get involved and speak up for what SHE believes in not them. There are many liberal parents who allow their teens more freedom because they trust them and their decisions and well their intelligence.

I have been in meetings with three millionaires recently. All under 18. In the tech industry and in other areas kids are learning quicker and getting their information quicker. Kids are a lot smarter nowadays.

Recently i was at a conference where a 13 year old was schooling middle aged men and women on the ins and outs of programming.

I understand where you are coming from, but I think the part which probably hasn't explained very well to you is that the science you agree with and the science you disagree with are actually the same science, using the same methods - Reviewing past data points and using those data points to simulate what temperatures were and are going to be.
So the science which determined that there has always been temperature fluctuations is the exact same science that is saying it has never happened at this rate before. The change we are currently seeing in 50 years is the same change which naturally happens over 50000 years. So what could be causing that? Why is the Earth suddenly warming 100 x faster than it has ever done before? That is the point they are trying to get across to you

First clarify how kids who understand tech dont know life. Wtf does that even mean. To understand complex technology they would need to smart or at least schooled and have an understanding of "life". Again that's such a stupid term. It's so broad. Are you saying that's not part of life?

Age is a number for some teens. There are literally thousands if not millions of teens more advanced than their adult counterparts. It's not extremes. It's sad you feel youth are worthless.or exploited if they have thoughts or opinions until they are 18.

The right upbringing and encouragement does wonders for children. Even less fortunate children find ways to learn and advance themselves now with the internet. Dismissing them is foolish

If Sweden felt she was at threat from her parents they would have acted or at least have been advised by some other government.

There are arsonists that have started some and also dry storms have started many. I was also reading reports of complaints of camp fires being lit on total fire ban days and then people not putting them out properly so possibly some of these would have started fires as well. There are alot of idiots out there.
Its true that the Green party have had no affect with policy but there are green groups that go around and protest planned burns to get them to not do them. This actually happened in Gippsland last year.

I am not convinced that we can just use a few hundred years of data to come to any proper conclusions. You pointed out that the temperature for the last 50 years has been rising much quicker than what it was doing 50,000 years ago - but I am not really sure if we can go into that much detail for the data we have for 50,000 years ago. This would be why the "since records began" line is used - if we could go into the same detail going back a 1000 or 50,000 years, then why don't they do that? I am not sure we can select a 50 year period from 50,000 years ago and compare it to the last 50 years.

I agree we need to lower our emissions and recycle etc - for the sake of a healthier environment. I do my bit. With regards to global warming, I don't think there is much we can do. We can all kid ourselves that not using carrier bags and ditching the plastic straws is going to make a difference - I don't think it will. But it does cost us a little bit more, either in cold hard cash, or in living standards. Somebody somewhere is getting rich off this.

One way to think about it is that it doesn't matter if you are "not sure" or "not convinced". I'm definitely not sure or convinced I could fly a Airbus A380 across the Atlantic. But what does matter is that I'm sure and convinced that a pilot can do it. Expertise matters. Hence, your own uncertainty doesn't matter, but what does matter is the expertise of climate scientists who can measure and parse out the natural processes of climate fluctuations from anthropogenic processes. The internet has eroded respect for expertise, and now anyone with access to wikipedia or even fossil-fuel funded pseudo-science webpages can read through them and convince themselves that they are an expert on a given topic. But they aren't. (<--I'm not saying you are doing this, just making a general observation).

With regards to the internet eroding respect for expertise - I couldn't agree more mate. The "My 15 minute google search is worth more than your medical degree" sort of thing is a bugbear of mine. I do see what you are saying, and it does make sense. I have never claimed I know the answers, or to be an expert on this sort of thing - I'm not even trying to change anyone's mind. I am just offering an opinion. Unfortunately there seems to be too many people that don't like that, but only when the opinion is different from the one they hold. That isn't a problem. I am not telling anyone they are wrong. I am just telling them what I think, and if pushed, why I think it. I used to buy into the man made global warming narrative, but now I am questioning it. This has been quite recent. Maybe I am a little more sceptical than I once was.
