@mods time to close the transfer thread for this year

Not the signing we all wanted, but he played enough games for a far better team than us last season, has experience and he's a far better player than Godfrey, Holgate and even mykolenko.
Exactly this fit enough and good enough to still be playing top level football been a decent player all his career forget age it’s a short contract and reasonable wages compared to some dross that add nothing, also a body we desperately need who will at least add something to the team not the signing we want but I’m sure he will do a job when needed. Hopefully more are coming in

Probably still good enough to get into our team, and would be great to have around the club, must have Barry levels of professionalism.

If a player is still playing top level football on a regular basis at 38, is rarely injured then they are doing everything right and will only be a positive influence on the team

It goes against everything that the club model should be promoting but it has highlighted the stark financial situation the club are in right now. I would have rather kept hold of Samuel Smith and tried to blood him into the team. I would imagine this is a plaster as we have pressing issues putting money into more important areas such as 1 or 2 quality forwards and and an experienced quality Centre half. We do have too many gaps to fill and not enough money to spread so this may turn out to be a smart move. But it is a sign of the tough times that lay ahead. That been said we navigate this very tough moment maintain prem status and stadium move and a professional board of directors.. There is a large light at the end of a very long tunnel we have been in.

Think most of this was said about Delph and he was an absolute weapon

What if they aren’t any good anymore?
