For me you need a mix, obviously if this is the best we've got all window then we may as well call it a day now.
This is my big fear. No real rumblings at all except players leaving and frees in. It's not a great way to head after battling relegation twice.

Surely no club signs a 38yo with the intention they'll be the starter for 40 games a season?
I know we're pushing boundaries at the moment that have never been pushed before, but hopefully there are some limits, especially when there's a 24yo that we've paid a significant chunk of change for as an alternative, even if that 24yo is "relatively steady" rather than actually impressive

Yup the one and only consolation I have heading into the season is that the 3 promoted teams look pretty awful and are pretty dirt poor also. Burnley with Kompany are a potential outlier, but the transfers they're going for would fill me with next to zero confidence if I was a Burnley fan. If Kompany leaves, then I'd think they're screwed completely.
It could come down to who out of the four of us gets the best on-loan signings. Its that bad.
James Garner, patterson and Onana all signed last year. Brighton have just signed Milner of the same age.
I bet Brighton get relegated before we do, a couple of years ago it was Leicester we had to emulate and look at them.
