Transfer Rumour Ashley Young

That makes no sense.
Both clubs are signing players in their late thirties.
By your logistics if City signed him it would be the bargain of the decade.
1 club is signing a player with experience of playing in Europe ahead of their maiden campaign there, the other is signing a player of experience because their owner and chairman have screwed the club financially that the only way to get bodies in are to sell what isn’t nailed down and bring in 38 year olds on free transfers

Meltdown ?
Signings like this are gonna send people over the edge on here, I think you're up for it. Young being signed is a symptom of all the inadequacies of our club, but we know he's hard working and can play a variety of positions. We could sign a lot worse and have done in the past that we're still trying to get rid of, and that's not a ringing endorsement of Young, just a fact that Everton FC are screwed.

It's a disgrace practically begging a retired player to come play for us because we can't afford to pay anyone decent wages anymore, what's the plan try and stay up with a thinner squad with less quality than last year

I know next why don't we sell Onana for 50 mil and sign James Mcarthur from Palace to reduce the wage bill further you skint fraud Moshiri

Villa didn’t keep him. Because they’re smart and moving forwards as a club. We’re retaining 50-year old Coleman and signing Young. We’re moving backwards.

This would make perfect sense to me on a relatively low wage and a one year deal...

...if it was felt ISS was a year away and Young was a short term stopgap.

But seeing as weve sold ISS this makes no sense to me. Vinagre one year, Young second year...then ISS part of the squad at 18.

But no. For this to make sense we would need to be signing a left back who they feel is going to be top notch but needs a season.

Agree would like see some long term planning for lb now

Do you reckon this is the only reason Bill was kept around. Just to keep the limelight on him this window..
