I’d rather him than the current incumbent
The only real objection to Wenger that I can see is his age. I think we are too fixated on age about players and managers anyway.
He has won trophies on a regular basis, finished in the top four on a regular basis and bought and sold players brilliantly over his entire career.

As I posted earlier it comes down to what ambitions Wenger has left regarding his career. I think he will be swamped with offers by clubs and countries alike.
I expect he knows Moshiri well and he certainly would be familiar with EFC. I don't think the finances would be a problem , and it just might be that he would like to work with and mentor a young coach like Arteta or Rooney... just to use a couple of obvious names.

Dein saying he's received calls asking about him already -
We have a couple of board members with his number !

indeed we do. obviously he wouldnt be someone for ling term...but we are in a very turbulant period of change and a 3 yr contract would be ideal....
on another note I see Arteta has been linked with the Arse job......2 of them here would be interesting

I tend to think he will take a break or maybe even retire from management unless France come calling for him to takeover the national team.

Everton approach Arsene Wenger: Arsenal manager wanted with Oleg Luzhny to be assistant

EVERTON want Arsene Wenger as their new manager, with ex-Arsenal man Oleg Luzhny lined up as his assistant.

Wenger announced last week that he’s giving up the Arsenal job at the end of the season.

The Frenchman hasn’t yet revealed if he’ll retire or work elsewhere.

And he could yet stay in the Premier League, with Everton keen on bringing him north.

Starsport understand an offer has been made which would take Wenger to Goodison Park with ex-Gunners defender Luzhny as his assistant.

The Ukrainian is currently No.2 at Dynamo Kiev and could be open to a return England alongside his former manager.

Luzhny, 49, spent four years at Arsenal, making 75 appearances.

David Dein, who worked appointed Wenger at Arsenal in 1996, expects the 68-year-old to work again, rather than retire.

“He's going to be 69 in October, but he keeps himself extraordinarily fit,” he told Sky Sports.

He would instantly command respect if he came in. His principles are admirable.

And the stingy git might be just what we need after Walsh and Koeman's del boy act cause at least with Wenger he wouldn't throw money down the drain for the sake of it.
