The amount of times baines gets caught out at the back is a joke.

Another showing of lack of class from arteta again, he wants to remember who made him the little spanish gimp

We're playing against a CL, title league winning quality team. It was a tight game up to 80mins. We lack that quality they and others can buy, gutted but not too down hearted.

Think pienaar needs a run on the bench, with Miralass left McGeady given a few games on the right.

Would like to see this. Would also liked to have seen Naismith get involved in today game

Pienaar is beyond finished and Miralles is a myth.
I'm sick of Martinez telling the palyers that they are world beaters, and can beat teams without bothering to pass the [Poor language removed] ball!!!

Getting to the point where I'm getting less bothered about football each week. Not much to look forward to if you're not a fan of a big spender is there. Ah well
I feel the same, sitting through this disappointments, transfer windows hopeing for new players. We get rewarded with feeling depressed. Not happy days.

Poor performance in a big game.

Arsenal weren't even that great. It didn't need a top class side to beat us today. Really disappointed. Mirallas and Pienaar were particularly poor. Mirallas has let us down all season, virtually.

I hope this problem of being horrendously toothless up top is just a first season thing for us. Sort it RM.

Dreadful defending for the last 2 goals but we were going for it and it's not like losing by 3 in a cup game is a real difference. When Barkley missed that chance, that was it imo. It's happened a hundred times that we'll be edging a narrow game, miss a gift of a chance and then the opposition will get back into the game and hurt us 10-15 mins later.

Our finishing has cost us all season. Sickeningly, Liverpool have it, and they're now genuine title contenders. No excuse to not spend over the summer. Personally thought Lukaku was our best player today. Barkley played well but only played to his strengths once (when we scored). McCarthy and Barry both poor, Mirallas/Pienaar sloppy.

No excuse to not play the strongest team poss. at every stage now though - we have to finish above The Scum!

A replacement for Pienaar and a striker (ideally Lukaku on loan/perm and a Batshuayi type) need to be the priorities, plus a utility midfielder such as Holtby.
