It was a massive goal for Arsenal, arguably Arteta's biggest goal as an Arsenal player; why shouldn't he celebrate? The whole non-celebrating thing is a bit of a drag, he scored an important goal and so he should celebrate regardless of who it is against.

As has been expressed previously, what Arteta did or does is just not of any great import to me. This issue is a red herring of blue whale proportion.

No worries at all with celebrating. Kissing the badge made him look a total weapon though.

Maybe we should be super nice to Arteta at the Goodison game?

Maybe that will shame him?

I mean, big standing ovation. Give him a really classy welcome

I think that might actually throw his game off more than us booing him

If we boo him, he'll become defiant. If we cheer him, he won't know what to think

Thoughts?

Arteta couldn't give a flying one what kind of reception he gets. Footballers tend not to.

Agree. The best way to make Arteta (or any footballer for that matter) give "a flying one" is to defeat the team he's playing for. Thus, Evertonian energies are best directed positively (i.e. at spurring on OUR team to victory), rather than being directed negatively at an opposition player.

I had no problem with him celebrating....i had a problem with him feigning injury, and our players being suckered into kicking the ball out of play when we could (and should) have continued playing....

Stuff that. Hope Wigan batter them.

This.

It wasn't so much the "celebration" that annoyed me, it was sitting in the centre circle like a complete prat with the sole purpose of having the game stopped.

Clattenburg didn't fall for it.....sadly Baines did.

Kissing the badge just confirmed to me that our residual affection for Arteta is unrequited.

So stuff him.

Baines was a completrre and utter bell for doing that. Raging at him.
