'Everton letting you down and subsequent results twisting the knife in' probably ranks ahead of 'death and taxes'.

What I hate though is when randomers who ask why you look so manically depressed sort of throw their heads back and chuckle, claim it's only a game and that you have a roof over your head with running water! WTF? I hate being lectured to by people who don't have the emotional attachment to a team.

Agree mate. Those people have NO idea what is like to be a TRUE masochist (ie Everton supporter)

Blaming the goalie is a joke but to be fair he should never of been on the pitch, still at least Arsenal beat the RS in the previous round because with him in goal against that strike force new scoring records would of been set!!

How would a different goalie have changed the result, unless I am missing something none of the goals were his fault.

The goalie issue is a red herring (although I disagree with playing Robles when Jags was out). The burning issue is our inability to create, and finish, goals. We are so ponderous in our build up. The exception was that quick break by Barkley and a quick ball in...I hope Barkley did not get told off for that

??? think you are missing a piece of the jigsaw mate. That result at Etihad has MASSIVELY increased the pain of our loss at Emirates.

It would have increased our chances but that's not what he was getting at. At least I don't think it was, infact I can't work out what a posts mean.

Why did Baines put it out when the referee clearly played us on, the whole away section urged him not to put it out and keep going. It was disappointing when he did.

We still lack the mental belief and arguably the quality to go to that next level. The win at old Trafford and the subsequent league game at the emirates raised our hopes that bobby had instilled in us the confidence to win big games. Sadly our performances at anfield and yesterday suggest that old habits die hard. The result at city just highlights another great opportunity lost.

Why exactly?

We could just as easily lose to Hull, Sheff Utd or Wigan in a semi.

We weren't good enough on the day, and yes we had on paper probably the toughest draw of the round (although Wigan would argue City away was tougher)....we lost, Wigan won. They deserve to be in the semi whilst we don't
