Another thing I fumed about - why did we put the ball out when we had a good attacking position just before half time? The ref was waving play on and, aines I think, rolled the ball out. We do this too often

I think that has to be done, it's the way everyone should play the game. They thing that annoyed me about that is the fact Arteta wasn't hurt. He looked up and saw that he'd lost the ball and then decided to grab his ankle and stay down.

Because we are too nice mate, did the same over Andy Carrol last week.

It wound me up them UBM. I'm all for sporting behaviour but most other teams would have seized on teh advantage and pushed on exploting the man down. Its harsh but everyone else does it. Of course if it looks horrific you do all you can to get the player treated but yesterday the ref looked at Arteta, saw it was nothing and waved play on.

The Carrol one was even worse as he was clearly fine and it just encouraged him to hit the deck at every aerial challenge.

I dont want to see Everton cheat or be overly snide but we are just too nice sometimes

So we do what only we do so well - miss our chances and then shoot ourselves in the foot, right through the metatarsal it seems (missed chance, good positions and then a needless penalty) and, once again the boat has sailed. Disappointing doesn't begin to express the wasted chance against an Arsenal side that looked tired and just as mistake ridden as us for long periods in this end-to-end game but, given a great chance to win the game only they were capable of taking those chances..

And I suggest Clattenb.. ordered the retake as a little sop to us.. fair enough I say.

This is the first time ive come on here not in work.

Just need to get the disappointment off my chest,

feel down today. That fa cup was ours for the taking. yesterdays failure hurts.

Great trip up until the penalty.

Still shattered this morn after yesterdays diappointment. Still gutted. Haven't felf this bad since 2012 semi final. Evertonians love the FA Cup don't we? My 16 year old son took it better than me!! He loved being amongst our away fans and said the last 20 mins wouldn't deter him. He just looks at positives of our season. The innocence of youth eh!

Yeah its probabaly the worst disappointment since then Stutheblue.

Good on your lad. Mine was gutted an all. Tried to shake the disappointment off on the way home by talking about our last Cup win in 95 - only made me feel more guilty that my son hasn't ever seen us win anything.

Give him another couple of years, he'll be as bad as the rest of us.

Did one of them have sideshow bob hair? If so I saw the same incident and they were tossers.

Yes mate, that was one of the lads. They were just kids who'd gotten absolutely smashed beforehand. On the way up they were banging on the side of burger vans and trying to be as intimidating as possible.

If you saw them bumping into the Evertonians queuing outside, I was the lad who went up to the police.

If you saw the approx. 7/8 of them attacking two Everton fans while waking up from Finsbury Park (surrounded by hundreds of Arsenal), I was the lad who ran over and made sure the Evertonians were safe and didn't try to retaliate again. Also told the Arsenal lads to leave it.

To be fair to the two lads, they gave a few of them some good straight jabs to the face in self defence.

Loling at people blaming Arteta, he did the same stuff for us and we loved them, he gave us his best years, could have left a lot earlier if he wanted to, and is one of the best players weve had in the prem era, showed nerves of steel for the pens, if people are looking to vent their anger they need to look a lot closer to goodison park for why we failed

....it might not be the innocence of youth, more like he's a wise head on his shoulders.
