I like Davies as well mate.

I don't think it was unfair from Silva at all, btw. You're pinning blame on him for it assuming he just chucked him in. He'll definitely had had a talk with Schneiderlin, and MS will have said he wanted to play. These things happen. I don't think his mentality was what did for him last week. It's a horrid thing but ultimately he got run around because he couldn't keep up with West Ham's midfield (which is a worry!).

Silva deserves more criticism for the defensive issues than deciding - with MS' consent - that he'd play, imo!

Very very few footballers with any self respect are going to tell their manager face to face that they don't want to play. It's up to the manager to make the sensible decision.

And FWIW I think Schneiderlein was clearly affected and that was always likely. He looked frozen out there. And it wasn't his fault.

I can see your point. Gana can make him self useful and bite at the heels of most of the opposition. But Schneiderlin I feel stays in neutral. Playing together doesn't give me much hope of a free flowing game at all.

But horses for courses, and if we're trying to go up against Arsenal in a 'free flowing' style, we'll get hammered.

We did it under Martinez at our best, but that's when they were weaker up front than they are now, and we were a lot stronger on the whole.

I hesitate to mention it but the last time in the recent past that I was happy (ish) after this fixture was when Rat Barkley and Gérard Deulofeu turned in a performance getting a 1-1 draw

He looks frozen in a lot of games, mate.

The midfield is a massive concern in today's game, whoever we play.

I feel after this game we will see their end product. One less flowing midfielder will inhibit our chances up front. I don't see this pairing stopping the Gooners at all. I fear for our lads in this one. I hope I am wrong.

Pickford

Holgate - Mina - Zouma

Walcott - Bernard - Sigursson - Lookman

Naise - Tosun - Richarlison
