If we start Gueye and Schneiderlin may as well just end the match before it starts.
Haha oh jeez. Thanks for correcting me.Lukaku was at Man U last season. Though he did score the last Everton free kick that I can remember - think it was against Crystal Palace in Koeman's first season.
Trouble is this is a default of fill in the blanks it seems for any Everton manager even at home. Success rate of this pairing is abysmal.
who would you start?
Davies? Dowell? Drop Gylfi deep?

Davies with one of the 2 others. He needs to pick one and stick with them. Both of them together is a complete joke at this stage. Can't believe we are still watching it.
Gueye doesn't go over midfield and Sigurdsson just pivots on him.
Pickford
Kenny - Holgate - Zouma - Digne
Gueye - Sigurdsson
Walcott - Bernard - Lookman
Richarlison
21 times this season and last season Gueye & Schneiderlin start together in the PL.
We won 7, drawn 6 and lost 8 which those two starting.
But Davies gets slaughtered when he's in as well?
I think today will probably suit them because naturally we can sit back (we'll actually have to, in all likelihood). A bit like Wolves when they both played decent.
If we had better options, I'd be all for it, but I don't think we do at the moment.
Davies tries to make things happen and if he does start that's fine, but him and Gana don't work as a pair. We saw that against Bournemouth. One of the main reasons they were allowed so much of the ball was because neither Davies and Gana keep hold of it. Schneiderlin, for all his faults, is currently the only fit midfielder we have who can do that in a deep role, though he certainly doesn't do it enough.
Personally, I think it's the system that doesn't help as well as how crap they are together.
I'd go with a 4-3-3 today - a proper flat midfield trio (Gylfi/Schneiderlin/Gana or Gylfi/Gana/Davies).
Gylfi can't play deep in a two. But in a 3 I don't think there's as much of an issue. We'd have the numbers in the middle and that would allow him to push up, and it also means that we'll make the most of his workrate. It also gives us that option of then having a player a bit deeper who can get on the ball.
I like Davies. Yes he gives the ball away but he has far more energy. I much prefer my young players trying to do the right things and making errors than an experienced player doing the wrong things and being half arsed about it.
Schneiderlin Davies ideally today but I've no idea if Schneiderlein is in the right frame of mind. If he isn't then he should be given the day off like should have happenned last week. Unfair and insensitive from Silva last week and the only thing I really think he deserves direct criticism for so far.
I can see your point. Gana can make him self useful and bite at the heels of most of the opposition. But Schneiderlin I feel stays in neutral. Playing together doesn't give me much hope of a free flowing game at all.Yet when one of them doesn't play we'll say we missed them. And you know that's the truth.
We need a better pairing, but Schneiderlin (on form) is currently our only fit midfielder who can get his foot on the ball (not that he did against West Ham) while Gana is the only player who can get about the pitch and hassle well (again, not that he did that against West Ham).
