But Spurs being their local rivals = trouble, LFC are world reknowned for crowd problems, they've got to put something forward to justify why we don't get the full jobby ?

Use of pyrotechnics at previous fixture this season is what they will put forwards. Not that cutting an allocation is going to stop people bringing pyrotechnics.

There's been no major trouble at away games this season though so that would work in our favour and we haven't thrown pyro at home fans like the rs did at old Trafford.

(I spend too much time with my police mate!)

Actually agree, and with the poster that mentioned the minor crowd trouble a year or two ago. This is what they will use and we have Elstone/Kenwright to put the counter case forward. So 5000 tickets.

Yeah but you'd think our numpties would make sure they agree if there's a reply arsenal get less tickets at goodison

ERM...

We'll get 5k. Ish

That was years ago (I was there), and was caused by Arsenal fans in the upper tier throwing things/spitting on to Everton fans in the tier below. Arsenal actually took blame for that, apologising to Everton and banning several Arsenal season ticket holders who were found guilty of doing the throwing/spitting.

It won't have any bearing on the allocation we get, as Arsenal admitted Everton fans weren't at fault.

This happened years ago and there has been no problems since. At the time, Arsenal apologised to Everton for the conduct of their own supporters.

I think there's definitely an element of Met Police not wanting Northerners (perhaps even specifically those from the Merseyside area) going down to London in huge numbers. I know Spurs got less but thats a massive local rivalry.

remember how we were treated before the cup semi final with liverpool? early kick off despite the travel requirements and distance, all that stuff about being very clear no drinking around the ground. It was fine in the end (with people drinking cans while chatting to the police!) but they obviously had the absolute fear in them. God knows where it came from, its been years since massive trouble but still.

I think they just don't like football fans full stop tbh. But for some rear their happy to have liverpool and man united fans to clash at euston like the other Wednesday.

Wasn't a good experience traveling up after a day at work

That really irked me at the time, especially so as a year before it was Man City v Man Utd in the semi and they were given a half 5 ko. With regards to the emirates allocation, we'll just get whatever allocation Liverpool got which is a shame as we'd comfortably fill out bigger

Is there not also an issue of how the tickets are distributed and how the club pays for them? I think unless the rules have changed (and in these days of electronic ticketing, they need changing) that - for the Premier League - the away club receives some tickets on sale-or return, then any extra allocation requested they are on consignment - i.e. you are committed to paying for them. Even though we always do sell out, I think in the recent past (QPR away last season) the club took less of an allocation than they could have, for fear of being left with unsold tickets they'd have to pay for.

But with electronic ticketing, there's no reason why the away club couldn't continue to sell up until a pre-specified deadline, after which Arsenal could then resell unused blocks as home tickets, within their segragation plans. I know this is a Premier League problem, but imagine the ticketing issues are the same between clubs. Selling tix on consignment to away clubs in this day and age is ridiculous - and they wonder why the atmosphere is a problem.
