ARSENAL TICKET PRICES FOR THE FA CUP ENCOUNTER

Sit down lad, I paid for this seat.

To be honest, people are well within their rights to say that.

There's no law that says you must stand at a football match. Even when terraces existed, there were still seated areas at football grounds. I can understand someone being pissed off, particularly if they are old or bad on their feet, and some tanked-up loon insists on standing right in front of them the whole game.

Been saying this all season, stupid people setting stupid smoke bombs off is going to cost us.

Absolute idiots.

Don't be stupid. The police don't weigh these things up on some sort of points system. With or without smoke bombs we'll only be getting c 5,000 -- Arsenal can't take any more on segregation grounds and the police are more than happy to go along with this and would quote any reason in support.

I think inadvertently you've made the case for standing terraces at football -- as in the old days, if you want to sit, sit, and if you don't then take the option to stand on the terraces. That way we can all watch the game without irritating others.

I'm not 'being stupid'. Regardless of whether our allocation will be affected for this particular game - it is a FACT that our allocation for future away games will be cut if morons continue to let off smoke bombs in stadiums. Various clubs have already said that they will review future allocations if fans continue to let off smoke bombs. I've been going to away matches for nearly 10 years and am sick to death of the increased security measures this season as a result of these idiots. There never used to be sniffer dogs at every turnstyle, or heavy body searchers at every ground. Prior to this season, I only ever saw a sniffer dog once - Portsmouth about 5 years ago, and the heavy body searchers only ever happened at Man Utd. Now it is every ground. It is ridiculous, it gives the club a bad name, and eventually the right minded decent fans will all be punished for it with reduced allocations. And because of that, the team on the pitch will have less support & backing than they should have.

I'm not against standing at football matches - I just think people are perfectly entitled to be annoyed by standing in seated areas and if someone wants to sit down, you should be respectful of them.

My policy has always been - if the person in front is standing and I can't see, then unfortunately I'll have to stand as well until they sit down.

Correct. Common sense approach

Surely if we only get 5,000 tickets, but have asked for 9,000, then evertons 5,000 allocation should represent 15% of the crowd ie reducing Arsenal's ticket allocation to under 35,000 ?

Spot on, problem is the idiots with smoke bombs wouldn't care if we got a allocation of zero tickets, what is happening on the pitch is secondary to them behind arsing about.
Lets not forget to search 9k fans going in will take far too long, those that didn't get in at Anfield on time had every right to be pissed off, imagine if they have to check 9k, we would have to start arriving 3 hours before kick off.

Coventry had the option of taking 9000. They chose not to. Spurs and the [Poor language removed] have a history of crowd trouble at the Emirates. We dont. I think we'll get the lot

They'll have to go some to argue security reasons with it being us, can see why they would with le merde and spurs. But they will try.

They don't even have to argue if arsenal put it forward to the police no way the police will turn down a chance to use less officer's and save money

If everton object arsenal will just refer it to the police and then you hit a brick wall

Undo

It depends how they see us really.

If the police are looking at it, how damaging can a 12:45ko be? I'll be on the ale, but lets be realistic here, there won't be any trouble so early on, there won't be any issue with getting fans to and from the stadium, there just won't be any trouble. If we get 5,000 so be it, but it's a bloody farce, especially as Chelski got 9,000.

But Spurs being their local rivals = trouble, LFC are world reknowned for crowd problems, they've got to put something forward to justify why we don't get the full jobby ?

I'm pretty sure the home team pays for the policing cost at every game.
