To preface I'd still consider getting rid of Bobby. But today that's on the players. Not good enough. His post match comments indicate, it was a same again (as Chelsea) team talk, plus he picked the xi most of us would of picked. And what he got was the complete opposite. Thought McCarthy in particular was awful, he never offers much of a threat going forward so his minimum is to close down and Harry, which he never. Barkley was far too casual, perhaps jaded, pity we don't have another 10 to give him a rest. What's more worrying is there's no clear leader on the pitch to gee everyone up. Lots of things to be addressed in the summer, including the manager. But today some of those players need to look themselves in the eye and ask themselves do they have the hunger and balls to achieve something. Ideally they should be absolutely beasted in training this week and not allowed to utter one syllable of drivel or sound bites about bouncing back in the press. Or at least when they come back from internationals.

I think they are much better barring a couple of players. They are a team that have Ozil, Sanchez in midfield that make a massive difference. If they have space they exploit teams. We have an in and out of form Ross and its his form that dictates how involved Rom becomes. Cleverly doesn't cut it and McCarthy isn't as good on the ball. We must now seek a McCarthy/Ross mix type of player

Thought a 19 year old getting MOM said a lot about our performance today.

Take lukaku out this team, where would we be?

That's the bigger issue. Because soon he won't be here, but martinez will be, and if we allow Martinez to literally drag us down to a relegation fight at a third attempt then it will just be a joke.

I mean how can you have a manager who relegated a team after his previous TWO predecessors failed to do and then literally wait for him to do the same here?

Amen to this

At this moment in time no, because it buys the fraud another season. Keep performing like this and we lose our best players so we wait another two decades for success.

The manager has to go and I don't want any excuse for him to stay, no matter how distasteful.

Lot of sense in that longer term view

Don't get me wrong mate I would love to win the cup, but there are already rumours certain players aren't happy with the snake oil salesmans lies. Winning a trophy now is short term gain, but if keeping him means we lose key players then I would take the hit now.
Don't listen to me mate, I'm in rant mode...

So what happened last week then with those certain players whacking Chelsea ?? With respect, your logic is a bit skewed to be honest mate...if we were in Europe again then that would be the sole arbiter of players wanting to staying. I don't think Martinez will survive an audit of the new money people should we continue to tread water anyway to be honest.

If you can't see that we have been dominating almost all games this season, then you can't have watched many games this season.
This is not where our problem lies. The Problem has been poor defending.

I must have been looking up at the sky all those games.

I think the problem here is we have a different concept of dominating. Dominating includes dominating defensively as well. And some (most) games we have dominated a half only, the first halves of Bournemouth and Norwich away in the league for example.

We have dominated very few games in their entirety. Southampton away, Villa at home, Stoke away, Middlesbrough away, Chelsea last week.

I wasn't even angry watching that shambles.

Just indifferent......turning to mirth near the end.

Sad days indeed.
This is true and really is a disgrace that this is where RM has brought us. If we lead in a game at home, we now expect to still get beat, so what happens if the other team scores first.....its pretty depressing

We dropped Howard, we dropped Stones but the person who needs dropping is the manager. We were outclassed and hardly reacted. I hope we win the FA cup but with this manager it will be the last thing we win. Please get rid in summer no matter what

Coleman, Baines and Lennon tried. The rest were abysmal. We had no midfield dominance, no creativity, no passion, no pride, no pressing, no fight. 8 home defeats.....so far.

Thought we pressed and hassled Arsenal today but unfortunately is was only the man with the ball. They released the ball with ease to unpressed players taking 2 or 3 of ours out with one pass. We never worked as a unit whilst pressing today. Felt like we were attracted to the ball too much without a thought for the players off the ball.

No we didn't
