It wasn't a high press but it was perfect example how they were set up to pass sharply through the middle and get in behind with pace. If we'd have been pressing high they'd have been in behind us every few minutes

Missed the game because of work, but managed to follow most of it via certain sources. Some thoughts:

i) Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

ii) Baines has been dreadful since he came back, Galloway should be tried again because if nothing else his pace covered up quite a lot of what was wrong on that side.

iii) we missed Barry, but given his age it is something that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later. Besic was very bad today but McCarthy wasn't any better.

iv) the Cleverley / Kone / Barkley / whoever thing on the wing needs to stop now, its been tested to destruction and it no longer works. Play Deulofeu there for the rest of the season. Whilst we are at it, rethink the two defensive midfielders thing as well because it obviously doesn't provide any more protection and it would free up a spot for Niasse, with Barkley dropping further back.

v) Martinez will be out on his ear if this continues, Moshiri owes him nothing and stands to lose a lot if this isn't fixed. TBH I think even Kenwright would be looking to get rid, given how far backwards we have gone.

They should be, but its the person at the top who has had nearly two seasons of this sort of thing happening in games and he appears to have done the sum total of flip all about it, apart from change tactics when the players revolted and drop Howard three weeks after the last person in the remotest tribe in the Amazon basin wrote into the club pointing out how bad he was in goal lately.

very few off days. We have been dominating almost all the games. problem has been faults defensively. When i say off days I mean games where we havent been playing to our potential.
